Questions regarding to being scammed

I was scammed by a seller on the forum, I contacted them through their telegram link on their profile. Now after I was scammed, I see that their telegram account is different in their latest messages. Is it not their responsibility to update their main thread with their main telegram username? Or am I out of luck here? Should I have checked better? I assumed the clickable telegram link on their marketplace thread went to their telegram. It's a big seller aswell, do I have merit for a dispute?

Got scammed today as well by these two accounts. Checked their history too late: they offer anything and everything to anyone every minute, all over the forum.

Cheap 10 bucks lesson learned — all communications on BHW only.

Basically from what I see is that if you DM someone on Telegram — it's little chance for dispute resolution since no communications actually happened here. BHW is not responsible for whoever you DM on Telegram, and those weren't even proper sales threads, just post replies. How are Jr Vip and paid accounts with actual history risking it for low-level scam is unclear to me but we'll see, informed both about dispute thing and will submit it in 24 hours.

As we've said previously, if you've had a bad experience with a seller on BHW, please open a Dispute (as suggested by @Jason Starkey) rather than taking the issue public as it can compromise and complicate things if they do go to a Dispute.

It's the responsibility of the seller to make sure all their contact information is up-to-date. If this isn't the case then please report it and our Marketplace team will look into it. Obviously we would recommend all potential buyers double-check before contacting someone off-forum - and we would also recommend not using external messaging services at all. Especially Telegram.
