Hey!

im overthinking our proxy structure right now. Would you say ISP can be reliable for smm? Or would you say mobile forever is the way to go? I mean for farms you need to have ISP or resi. We have sticky resis atm but are thinking about switching to ISP. Is it worth it? Also how is the City targetting from the providers?

Looking forward to your answers!

Sticky residential proxies are still the gold standard for mimicking real users. ISP proxies are more detectable as data center IPs (just from a residential ISP) and can trigger blocks. Only switch to ISP if cost is prohibitive and your accounts are low-value. City targeting is unreliable with most providers; focus on country-level accuracy.

Yes but even sticky resis can rotate weirdly and random which can lead to bans. ISP therefor is stable asf. Also isnt a real ISP always good? And only bad ISPs which are really DC get detected? The problem is not costs or anything its just to get more safeness in longerm

Indeed, ISP proxies offer superior IP stability, which reduces the "weird rotation" risk. A true, clean ISP proxy from a legitimate provider is excellent if you can verify it's not from a known datacenter ASN that platforms blacklist. The safety comes from using a provider whose ISP IPs aren't flagged; many "ISP" proxies are just datacenter IPs in disguise. For long-term safety with high-value accounts, test a small batch of ISP IPs first.

you dont need sticky. in real world ips all change.
Yes but not that random and not in sessions. The problem is ISP is gonna be hard to find and to transfer with the right city level targetting. On the other hand resis will sometimes random rotate.

A bit of misinformation here, sticky sessions work well but some rotating residential proxies rotate every couple minutes even when using sticky sessions, this is not natural especially if you are targeting a single city, the IP will jump around that city at an unnatural rate.

ISP proxies are dedicated to one user and don't rotate. Sure they can be 'more detectable' but we have thousands of customers that use these to manage their accounts. The trick is to use proper warm up strategies to build trust on the account and IP

4G proxy with rotation. That way, your profiles stay safer as you continue since with a 4G proxy, you can have different IP's when you rotate it.

yeah but its not able to run on large scale really. Cant buy 1000 mobile proxys . Especially when ISP is like 5% of the price of a good mobile proxy

ISP proxies are reliable for SMM if you need stability, speed, and scale. Mobile is still best for farming and high-risk accounts, but it’s expensive and not always necessary.
For farms, ISP or residential makes sense — sticky resi works, but ISP is usually more stable and cost-effective long term.
City targeting: with ISP it’s generally more accurate and consistent than residential, depending on the provider.

This clearly shows that an ISP proxy is more suitable for your business.

I wouldn't touch anything that's not mobile proxy: lte,4g,5g

ISP works fine if its clean and static. Sticky resi is safer but more noisy over time.

For IG I still trust mobile most but ISP is ok for farms if one account per IP.

Mobile is safest, no doubt.
But ISP works fine for SMM if setup is clean (1 acc = 1 IP, stable geo, low aggression).
It’s more about risk profile than proxy type.

There's no single best solution for every situation. Mobile is still the cleanest in terms of trust, but it's more expensive and requires a larger farm scale. ISP proxies are good for SMM if the provider is reputable, the IP isn't being reused illegally, and the account behavior looks genuine, because many farms I've seen run successfully with long-term ISPs

That's right, it also depends on which mobile proxy you use - paying per port or paying per gigabyte

ISP vs sticky resi isnt the real bottleneck - IG cares more about ASN history + reuse patterns than proxy label

Clean ISP that never touched farms before + 1 acc per IP + locked city + stable device fingerprint will outlive a noisy sticky resi that hops subnets mid-session

Sticky resi only wins when the pool quality is elite, most arent and rotation jitter kills trust over weeks. If you can source real consumer ISP blocks with consistent city mapping, thats actually calmer long term than random resi churn.

Honestly, you’re not overthinking it too much. ISP proxies are usually a nice step up from sticky resi when it comes to stability and speed, and they’re perfectly reliable for most SMM work. Mobile is still the safest option for heavy farming or really aggressive actions, but it’s often overkill (and pricey) if you don’t actually need it. ISP works great for warmed accounts and scaling more cleanly. City targeting is generally fine with reputable providers, just don’t expect 100% accuracy... I’d test ISP on a small batch first and see how it behaves

Don’t use ISP IPs, they get flagged quick. Unless you’re using churn & burn accounts you’re going to want to go with residential proxies.
