Basically I was bored of long SEO cycles so I tried spinning up small lead gen pages in dead local niches.

Picked 3 boring services in small towns, threw up 1 page sites with basic copy and a call form, nothing fancy at all.

What surprised me is 2 of them started getting calls within 2 weeks with zero backlinks, just GMB + citations.

What worked was keeping the offer dumb simple, fr no branding, no blog, just service + phone number.

What didn’t work was trying the same thing in semi competitive cities, those pages just sat there doing nothing.

Costs were low, maybe $30 per site all in, but the tradeoff is these feel disposable and could die anytime.

I even sold one to a local guy for a few hundred just because he liked the call volume screenshot.

Not sure if this scales or if I just got lucky with niche choice, anyone else still doing small local flips like this?

yeah this still works in dead niches, i think niche + town matters a lot and simple pages convert better than fancy sites

Cool! What was your method to research low competition cities/niches?

i dont overthink it tbh - start with boring services nobody flexes on
scan small towns where gmb is half dead + sites look 2010 janky
if top results are facebook pages + yelp - green light
avoid cities where ads are already running heavy - thats burn city

This is the "Rank and Rent" method working from the start of the IM so you can scale It and earn.
