In my opinion, Monero has the potential to replace Bitcoin in the long term.

Bitcoin is no longer truly anonymous and is subject to strict regulations.

Monero and Zcash are the only major cryptocurrencies that are currently still truly anonymous and can practically never be regulated.

Essentially, Monero is today what Bitcoin was in the 2010s.

What do you think about it?

Peoples distrust is higher now as more institutions start to buy and control bitcoin, ethereum and other currencies the only coins for peoples will be these coins that are restricted on most exchanges. Meaning the institutions whales can't manipulate the price by short and leverage like they do with bitcoin this create a new heaven for small investors. I will agree xmr is good but zcash is not really that good now

Monero is strong in privacy, but it lacks Bitcoin’s adoption, liquidity, and institutional trust.
Long term, Monero will likely stay a niche privacy coin while Bitcoin remains dominant.

I highly doubt it; it would take a very long time, and Bitcoin would have to reach its limit where no more can be created.

I completely agree with you. Monero has enormous potential to replace Bitcoin in the future. The truth is, Bitcoin isn't as anonymous as it used to be, and with all the regulations coming out, it feels a bit more restricted. Monero and Zcash are the only ones that truly maintain that focus on privacy. It's as if Monero were the Bitcoin of a few years ago, when people saw it as a freer way to manage their money without anyone watching. I think that as people become more concerned about their privacy, Monero could gain more traction. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out.

Can XX browser replace Chrome in long term?
Can XX replace tiktok in long term?
Can XX replace XX in long term?

Sure its always possible, but you'd better bet yourself don't rely on that mere possibilities...

This is funny, really. Governments around the world want to be able to see people’s actions and all their transactions. Monero is a private network and its potential isn’t very big. Can it replace BTC? Of course not.

I agree about Monero’s privacy, but I think the problem is how popular Bitcoin is. It occupies roughly 40 percent of the market, and I don’t think people care that much about anonymity nowadays

I agree, Monero is quite "niche" comparing to BTC. The numbers, the flow and the popularity of BTC that were built for years is hard to beat

Bitcoin and monero can co-exist and yes, they should probably be considered the most important projects alongside ETH.

Hellno. First it's not as safe as people think, second it's slow like Christmas, third almost no exchange or wallet supports it, and where are you gonna convert it.

It's ironically easier to fly under the radar with btc or the usdt variation.

Some people think because the protocol itself is safe in theory, that no other leaks can happen.

Think about it, you have monero, now you wanna convert that to real money and keep your identity unknown.

Now think will the average Joe ever wanna be dealing with that? That's your answer

Monero is a really good money, but because of its privacy features it is heavily regulated, which means it will never (or in the foreseeable future) get the same adoption and branding as Bitcoin.

There are many who use crypto without trying to be complete anonymous.
