I currently have about $20,000. What should I do to grow this to $50,000 by the end of the year? I have looked into the domestic stock market, but it doesn't seem very feasible. Should I consider investing in crypto as well? If anyone here has expertise in crypto or financial investment, please give me some advice.

crypto is a high risk / high reward, depends a lot on your personality and the way u act under stress, if you cant see your portfolio going 50% negative only to be up 100% or more afterwards, its really a big risk

Honestly, turning 20k into 50k in one year is possible but usually means taking higher risks. Stocks alone are slow unless you trade aggressively, and crypto can work but only if you really understand cycles and risk management.

Many here mix investing with building a cash-flow project instead of relying on markets alone.

i strongly suggest not getting into memecoins and crazy schemes, you should always dyor and even so, be careful if you are basing yourself in someone else choices. Even if you go into crypto you're no garanteed the crypto market will raise 100% this year, some coins might get up others will go down, and u have really study the projects u want to be "apart" of

You’re looking to double your money in a short timeframe, which would basically mean looking for high risk plays & gambling on low cap coins. You’re much better off just setting a monthly/weekly DCA and keeping a longer horizon.

Don't invest money into crypto if you're a beginner. And judging from the look of your thread I presume you are. You'll just end up losing money

Turning $20k into $50k in a year is ambitious and comes with risk. Focus first on learning and strategy understand the markets you’re exploring, manage risk carefully, and diversify your approach. Small, consistent steps and disciplined research often matter more than chasing big gains quickly.

You are aiming for almost a 150% APR with your capital, which is extremely risky. At that point, you are no longer investing but rather gambling and hoping things go well. Cryptocurrencies, compared to fiat-based investments, can be a good option if you are seeking high returns, but you should not expect to achieve such high margins if you approach it rationally. I work in the Bitcoin mining industry, and currently both my clients and I generate around 20–30% annual returns based on the current BTC price, which could increase significantly if Bitcoin goes up. While this still involves the risks of any investment, it is far more stable and higher than what banks or traditional investments offer. I recommend mining as a way to generate consistent returns without exposing your capital to unnecessary risk.

$20k to $50k in a year means you’re taking asymmetric risk whether it’s crypto or stocks - there’s no “safe” version of that. If you’re not already deep in cycles, order flow, position sizing, crypto will eat you alive fast, especially chasing low caps. What I’ve seen work is splitting mindset: keep most capital boring + protected, use a smaller chunk for high-risk plays you actively manage, or skip markets entirely and spin up a cashflow system where you actually control inputs + ROI. Markets don’t care about your target number, they just punish impatience.

Learn day trading with cryptocurrency futures. Master good risk management techniques to become profitable .

Even if you decide to invest in crypto, focus on Bitcoin and avoid hype-driven altcoins. Bitcoin tends to grow more steadily and has historically delivered gains over the long term. Most altcoins are far riskier and, for many people, end up being a poor investment.

The number one piece of advise for someone starting with $20,000 is to prioritize risk management over short-term gains. Although it is feasible to grow it to $50,000 in a year, doing so typically involves considerable risk; so, you should not invest all of your money into a single alternative, particularly cryptocurrency. Instead, you should diversify your holdings by putting some money into index funds or high-yield savings and some into crypto or other riskier investments. You should also only invest money that you can afford to lose. Instead than focusing on short-term gains, keep your eye on the prize: a clear plan and a lack of hype.

Thanks, I’ll think about it. I should probably lower my expectations a bit and start with small investments to learn more before committing all of my money.

Find a meme coin that is currently at a low price and hold it for 3–6 months. When there’s volatility and the price rises, you might be able to increase your capital by 5x or 10x.
Are you interested in or do you recommend any coins for me?

I've also noticed many people advising against starting with large investments or putting all your eggs in one crypto basket, as the risks are even higher than traditional stock market investing. Thanks for your advise!

Having considered the advice, I’ve decided to put in just $1k for the learning experience. It's not worth risking my life savings on something this volatile. Thank you
