I keep getting my subs banned despite growing it organically. I distributed the sub name through comments and posts in other sub and it grew to 300+ members in 4 days. Whats the best way to safeguard it? And if it gets banned how soon can I expect my appeals to work?

There’s no fixed number, but from what I’ve seen, steady is safer than fast. Something like a few new members a day in the beginning is normal. When a sub jumps hundreds of users in a few days, especially from name drops in other subs, it tends to trigger checks. Slow growth over weeks with actual posts and comments inside the sub usually lasts longer than rapid spikes.

The growth rate can be part of it, but I’ve also seen subs get hit just for being under moderated early on

A bigger factor seems to be how the growth happens. if the sub name is dropped in comments all over Reddit in a short timeframe, Reddit tends to treat that as promotion or coordinated growth, even if the content itself is fine

From their side it looks like the sub is being actively pushed instead of naturally discovered. a safer way I’ve seen is cross posting relevant content from the sub into similar niche subs rather than name dropping it everywhere

There’s no magic number. Early on, slow and consistent growth is the safest path. Small daily gains look natural, while sudden spikes, especially from cross-mentions, raise red flags. Subreddits that grow gradually with genuine activity usually stay healthy longer.
