Anyone else hit $10K/month… then lost it all and had to start from zero again?

The “invincible” phase usually means something isn’t diversified enough.
Second time around, people slow down, protect cash flow, and stop assuming traffic will always be there.

Business is never really stable.
It usually takes a long time to get things on track.
You can be making $10k, and then suddenly end up with $100k in debt — that’s business.

I am in $10M of debt for medical expenses - but the hospital said I can pay in the next life.

I heard they extend your lifespan so you have more time to pay.

And for 10m? ...... they've must have built you into super man for all that dough

I can either pay in one second or in a hundred years. Whichever one is more convenient I think!

It wasn’t specifically $10,000/month, but last year November I was in a similar situation, I was in a certain niche and, on peak days, I was literally printing up to $400 a day. I felt like I’d cracked the code. Then, on one fateful day, my traffic source got shut down, and just like that, my entire model collapsed. I only fully recovered last month (October), after nearly a full year of trial and error.
Mind sharing what was ur traffic source ? im new to this so i have no clue what it even means lol

I can definitely relate to the rollercoaster ride of online income, and I appreciate the honesty from everyone sharing their experiences. CCIS, your question about going through a reset phase really resonated with me - I've had my fair share of successes and failures, and it's interesting to hear how others have bounced back from setbacks. What strategies have people found most effective in diversifying their income streams and mitigating the risks of relying on a single method or niche?

Ok…
10 years ago I acted like a f. r3tard.
I had more than 100k $ in savings and I decided to take a break from my business and to live my life.
The point is that I spent all the money more on less on parties. So nothing physical that I could sell later, like a watch for eg.
I went to 0 $, ZERO.
To understand better I couldn’t afford to hang out with my friends and to pay for my drinks like 10$. So absolutely Zero.
I started over, I made again money, I went again to 0.
Then I was something like “if the third time I will do the same, I’m taking a gun and I will blow my f. brains because I’m retarded and I cannot learn anything from the previous experiences.”
The 3rd time when I had to start over was the most difficult because even I had the experience by my side, even I knew the workflow, my mindset has been affected.
I mean when you’re getting 10k,20k or whatever income in a month and then you’d to start over and maybe you are not getting that income in the beginning then there’ll be a problem.
So for me the problem was not my business, the problem was my mindset, my life values.

If I have the chance to go back in time, I wouldn’t change anything related to what I spoke about before because everything that I did wrong helped me a lot to build my mindset and to get my life values, but for sure that I will punch myself in the face.

The conclusion is: Every decision that we’re taking or not it’ll impact our life. For me those badly decisions that I took ended up being actually good. It’s like a paradox.

what were you doing?

At the peak, I reached 350K a month with a profit margin of 30%+. Then an unreliable partner took everything away, and it all stopped. Stuff happen. I tell myself this is normal, you will always have setbacks, especially when your experience is still limited. Every failure is simply building momentum for the next success.

Fuck my life. At least I am working at the Inter-Nets since 2003 :D

2003-2004: 0-1k per month

2011-2012: 0-1k per month
2013-2014: 20k per month

I never did as well as any of you guys here, but I did have an 8k profit month in 2020, and I was scaling a 4k month profit ad business in 2023. But I got 90% traffic loss on my site in 2021 and lost my ad account in November 2023, and never recovered. That's 2 years ago now.

Personally, I've done multiple 6 figures in sales as an affiliate, and right now I'm in a position where nothing is working. Absolutely nothing.

None of that which used to work before is working right now, and after all this time, I actually don't have anything except some money.

I do have "the skills", but what good are skills if none of them work? If the rules change 100% of the time, all the time...what's the point?

The worst part is probably realizing that you COULD have made it work, but you didn't push hard enough.

On the other side of the coin, you also were too stubborn, and tried for WAY too long instead of being a regular person.

Because I definitely could have made it work, but I also stayed way too long in 1 place, hoping. I did not nearly push as hard as I could have this past. I was too afraid of it failing, and I actually can't afford more failures. So as someone mentioned before, you go into survival mode, and you try to protect, you try to not risk and so you're kinda stuck.

Then I was something like “if the third time I will do the same, I’m taking a gun and I will blow my f. brains because I’m retarded and I cannot learn anything from the previous experiences.”

I'm honestly going through the same. Literally, I can try something one more time and if it doesn't work, off myself. 1 more go.

It's been 8 years of trying to build something that won't break, and the past 3 years I almost don't recall living. I just got older. If I'd instead had a kid or something, at least I'd have a kid.

I don't think my mistakes are good. I went to college which was 7 years thrown away, and now I'm in digital marketing for 7 years and even though I might have "some experience" I'm not where I want to be, so I'm not happy for the mistakes that made me lose time.

I used to earn $100,000 a month through API SMS marketing. Later, I tried making money through live e-commerce on TikTok, hoping to earn even more, but my partner scammed me! Now I'm over $50,000 in debt. When I tried to start API marketing again, I realized my time was up! Now I'm desperately looking for projects and jobs!

I make 20k a month and ever lost even 30k usd. Its thru crypto trading then i start again from zero. Now almost back

Man i feel your pain ... Sometimes you just gotta disconnect for a while (1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year) and not think of it at all.

The problem I think is that after failing on so many occasions we start to identify with being a failure and not with the warrior that fights till the end.

I found your comment very interesting so this is the reason that I reply.

If it’s not working you can check what others, in your business field, are doing and try to use their methods.
For eg. look what big companies are doing, they are copying each others, even if we are talking about cars, smartphones, AI, clothes and so on.
So they just “borrow” a proven to work idea and maybe improve a little bit.

The second option is to reinvent the wheel!

Maybe you have good technical skills in a field but those skills or at least some of them can be applied to other field too, to other business.

The point is when something is changing, you have to change your business idea, workflow, mindset too.
You have to figure out how to adapt.
This is how the world is working, I mean from the first day when we’re coming in this world we are in a continuous fight.
Now let’s check the evolution of species, some species that couldn’t adapt to the environment became extinct.
In businesses is the same.

If something was easy everyone could do it.

I got your idea.
There are people who are working somewhere, they are employed, working 8h daily (in theory), they are spending time in traffic to went to office - idk maybe with their jobs they are spending in total 11-12h daily, and they’re receiving a monthly wage.
That wage is taxed so they’re receiving less money.
In the most cases that wage is their only source of income because they cannot do anything else, they don’t have time to create a second source of income or they don’t want to do it.
Maybe those people with a good career behind will end up with less money than a teenager with some good technical skills that is working from home to his own business.

Do you believe that they are happy? Do you believe that they are counting their time?

Now to be clear regarding to the last part: I’m not saying that people who are working in a regular job are doing a mistake, no. This is how the world is working.
Instead I’m saying that everything comes with bad parts, like businesses can comes with failures.
So it’s up to us what we’re choosing for our lives.
