Text posts, images, short videos, or links? I’m seeing different results depending on niche. Curious what’s working best for others right now.

Simple posts that ask a question or share a short video usually get more comments than links or long text.

Short fun videos about kids, women, relationships, and break ups, are the kind of posts bagging the most conversations on my timeline.

Hard to get exact stats but generally, short videos is a good comment driver. Topical videos or content that encourage a reply by its nature also works for engagements, quality considered of course.
Not too sure about the order of importance either, you just want to make your content relevant and bait a response or drive discussions.

This depends heavily on the field, platform, and goals. In my opinion, short videos tend to receive more comments.

Poll style posts or debates tend to drive comments better than plain promotional content.

Debate & An Contriversal Post Gets the best Comments right now, however, I don't know it for Businesses's just what i have noticed.

Controversial topics like religion, adult, sports etc.

It also depends on what your goal is? Traffic or lead? What niche are you running. But from what I see, for traffic goals, reels are being distributed by Facebook to the right audience, so the effectiveness is quite high. As for the lead goal, it would be simple image content that summarizes your service, then combined with paid advertising.

shorts and native images tend to get the most comments right now because they grab attention fast and spark reactions

what type of content is actually performing best right now depends a lot on platform and niche, but here’s a snapshot based on current social media trends and what many creators/brands are seeing work well lately

Currently, there is no single best format. Facebook prioritizes retention and engagement over sales. Short videos (Reels) are most effective for reaching new users; text-only posts work well in groups/niches to generate discussion and trust; images are fine for branding but reduce reach; and posts with links are the worst because they are heavily restricted. The common strategy is: video → engagement, text → build trust, links → use indirectly (comments/bio/bridge page).

It depends on the type of product.
Currently, short videos are trending, however, I don't deny the usefulness of posts using images for advertising.

Personally, I find that short videos currently offer the best reach and engagement in most niches, especially B2C and entertainment.

The reality is that reels are still the best format for attracting reach from strangers. Posting short articles with real photos is also quite effective, and posting direct links often results in Facebook reducing engagement, so you should include the link in the comments section.

If you want the most comments, create reels to attract more views first, then use posts with real photos to ask questions that spark discussion with your existing followers.

I really think short videos work better in general, although I've seen very good results with informative longs posts in many niches.

That's right, not all advertising methods will yield the same results. It depends on the product, the target audience, and other factors such as creativity and content arrangement to achieve effectiveness.
