Are LinkedIn hashtags still useful or mostly ignored now?

I’ve tested posts with hashtags and without them, and results are inconsistent. Do hashtags still help discovery, or is LinkedIn relying more on content relevance and engagement?

Hashtags on LinkedIn are no longer the reach booster they once were. The platform has removed many hashtag features, and now content relevance and engagement are more important; hashtags can still help with search/categorization, but they are not the main reach driver.

Hashtags don’t do much alone anymore, real reach comes from making posts people actually like and comment on.

hashtags are a starting point for judgement of which topics others might be interested in. they also tag your posts to more keywords that may be related and then judge them accordingly. u dont change the judgement, just the starting point

In my opinion, hashtags on most platforms have lost their relevance. People have abused the feature a lot. Platforms now rely less on hashtags to push videos and more on content signals and user behavior. At this point, I think the main purpose of hashtags is just categorization rather than discovery.

LinkedIn hashtags still help a bit, but good content and engagement matter way more for being seen.

What I’ve noticed is that hashtags on LinkedIn only help if you pick the right ones. Not “#marketing” with 30M followers — those are dead feeds — but smaller, active ones.

I usually mix 1 broad hashtag (industry) with 2–3 niche hashtags (20k–200k followers). That’s where I still see consistent discovery.

Hashtags still help a little for initial categorization, but LinkedIn relies far more on content relevance, early engagement, and interaction quality to drive discovery.

No, I would avoid hashtags. I was never a fan of how it made a post look (always a bit gimmicky), and not it’s useless to even add them. LinkedIn and other social medias can get hashtags based on why you write in the description and even say in the video.

IMO hashtags look better because when I see a post with hashtags, they help me understand the post's context.

linkedIn hashtags are still useful but their role has evolved from simple
reach hacks to strategic tools for categorization, SEO, and connecting
with niche communities, requiring purpose-driven usage

LinkedIn hashtags can still give your posts a small visibility boost, especially when they’re relevant and not overused, but they’re no longer the main factor for reach. What really drives exposure is the quality of your content, how valuable it is to your audience, and how quickly people interact with it through likes, comments, and shares

Hashtags still help with discovery, but content relevance and early engagement now play a bigger role in reach.

LinkedIn hashtags can still be useful for discovery, but their impact seems less consistent now. It's likely that linkedIn's algorithm prioritizes content relevance and engagement over hashtags, so focusing on those factors might be more effective

Hashtags still help a little for categorization and niche discovery, but LinkedIn seems much more focused on content relevance, watch time, saves, comments, and overall engagement now.

I’ve seen strong posts perform well even without hashtags. Using 3-5 relevant hashtags is still fine, but the content quality and first few hours of engagement matter far more today.

hashtags still help a bit but not main driver anymore
linkedin mostly pushes based on engagement and topic signals in text
use a few relevant ones but dont rely on them for reach
