I got hostinger VPS on promotion for like $150 for 2yrs (upfront payment) -- That equates to ~$6/mo, it appears they still have that promo going on.

While it will be unmanaged, utilize Cloud Panel (free) -- It integrates with them, and its a few clicks to install WP, Static HTML, etc... I had no prior knowledge of VPS, but its very easy with cloud panel.

i;ve got 3 amazon api auto sites and it runs smooootheeeee

And no problems at all -- 100% solid when it comes to spikes, Amazon API, and about 25 other sites hosted there.
