Hi everyone, As I continue to study dropshipping and wholesale business models, I'd like to know what aspects most people take into account before beginning. I'm not looking for suppliers or advertising any services; I'm just looking for general advice, typical problems, and lessons learnt from experience. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

Generally speaking a product that says WOW and does not have that much competition - works well.
You can use spy tools to find products to copy, or find yourself something on aliexpress/other dropship friendly businesses.

Before starting, most people focus on having realistic expectations. Dropshipping and wholesale can work, but they’re competitive and usually take time to see results. Common challenges include tight margins, supplier reliability, customer support, and following platform rules. A lot of the real learning comes from starting small, testing things out, and improving along the way.

Hey! Most people seem to focus on finding a reliable niche, understanding their target audience, and making sure logistics and fulfillment are smooth. Common lessons are that product quality, pricing, and testing marketing strategies early make a big difference.

My advice is to focus on problem solving products and avoid lifestyle type of product like fashion. This way you have more leverage on the marketing side with creating good ads test new marketing angles etc

Rule #1: Don’t trust an AliExpress photo as much as you wouldn't trust a Tinder profile picture.

Most people worry about ads, but the real 'final boss' is product quality consistency. If you don't have eyes on the ground, you're basically gambling with your customer's patience. Good luck on the journey!
