If you really want a very fast host, do the following

Get a VPS or a dedicated server with a good uplink and traffic, 1gbps uplink.
Install no control panel or directadmin, as its very light and fast, and then install litespeed web server on it with wordpress plugin and only keep one website on the server, you will really have a very fast server and website loading speed, using any CDN with it like cloudflare.

The fastest is any self managed bare-metal vps. There's no management layer on those machines that will hog or throttle your website. Everything is yours. And there's plenty of memory on those bare-metal machines to handle millions of visitors easily.

They can be cheaper than the managed plans for similar traffic levels too, but you are responsible for your own backups, security, database and other infrastructure stuff.

There is not single "fastest" host, but for WordPress, managed hosts usually win. WP Engine and Kinsta are consistently fast out of the box. Cloudways (DigitalOcean/Vultr HF) can be even faster if configured well. Performance also depends a lot on caching, CDN, and them/plugin, not just the host.

Yep, where most vps webhost
providers like ionos, godaddy and many more have limited vps images, even with their ubuntu you can't install cloudpanel , shady business all over the place.

One thing is - you get what you pay for.

The other thing is - always ask what you get for what you pay for.

And don't get locked into too good to be true, long-term, auto-renewing contracts.

If you want stability and speed - certainly run with VPS or dedicated.
Dedicated does not have to be all that expensive, even for a smaller operation, if you really care about performance you can get a start up dedicated for as much as $39 / month or so.
