I was a lifetime member and had maybe like 5 downloads in total after I came to know he's just downloading them off other GPL sites and uploading them on his website. How I came to know? Not going to debate about whether he should've refunded lifetime members, but still charging people for a non functional service is a douchey move. Business going bad should never be a reason to scam others. If he didn't have any malicious intention, he should still make things right by refunding those who were charged without rendering any service.

I would not be upset if someone contacted the NL authorities and caused criminal charges against him.

I’ve been thinking about sharing my story here, too. I am a Lifetime Member. At the time I purchased the subscription, I wasn't earning any money; I actually had to collect funds from different people just to afford it. I had spent so much money on individual themes from other sites in the past that I really needed a cost-effective solution.

Even when things started going wrong, I never asked for a refund. I honestly thought it was just a rough patch for Deleted member 752298 and that they would come back stronger than before. However, I never imagined they would completely take down the site and ignore customer queries.

One concerning detail is that when I paid via an alternative gateway, the invoice I received was labeled 'SEO Optimization Service' rather than 'Lifetime Subscription.

Paddle doesn't give a damn and does absolutely nothing except bounce you back to the other side.

Whats the GPL go to now. not going to lie.. Festinger once upon a time was fantastic... to the point i went from monthly and upgraded to lifetime membership.. Now it literally just breaks every site i try to use it with.. i was not suprised to see it here... but did have an o shiz moment.. had it coming for sure.. If you are no longer operational.. just wrap it up and say so...

His service was allowed by bhw and he even faced a court case which allowed him to continue his business.
Also don't tell me that you never downloaded a movie, a tv show, a music, a cracked software or even use illegal streaming services.
Don't come here and blame other people.
The only one to blame here is Festinger.
I'm glad he is banned.

The thing is it's not even illegal to get GPL software from a third party. If anything is in the spirit of the GPL to share the software and sell it if you want. Daddy Stallman didn't die so a couple of wordpress soydevs could make a buck and complain that people "pirate" their software.
 
I don't care how blackhat his service is, and I don't care how long lifetime really means. He has been fraudulently charging cards for over a year now (an attempt at mine included after I was banned and never requested reinstation), and I think that is the real issue. Once is a mistake. Twice is an egregious error. Dozens (minimum) of documented examples over a year are intentional. It lasted so long because his official statement on the matter was that people who complain get refunded for fraudulent charges, and people who didn't notice get fucked. If even 10% of those charges went unnoticed, it's free money to him.

He thinks he's making things right by claiming to fix the Vault.

"Well all these refunds will cost me a fortune. So if I make it work again, everyone should be happy."

He just won't accept that the horse has not only bolted, it's over the hills and far away.
 
Mod of operation of this business was not really sustainable. This is what it is. Certain bsts need meticulous attention like those adword account related ones.
