Hey guys!

So, I’m planning on starting a membership site focusing on medical personnel (students, providers etc), since this is a niche I’m comfortable with and know a decent amount on. Now, I need advice as to where to start, what will make people actually join. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

Also would love any guides if you guys have any

What do you intend to provide, as part of the membership?

You may be comfortable with this, but the niche is very hard and is wrapped around several hundred laws.

Guides to educational content, guides to clinical tools (which I realise a lot of practitioners struggle with), community features (discussions, webinars), maybe an interactive patient simulator (SaaS).

I’m not sure if this is a good idea or if I should look for another niche. Especially considering the fact that I’m a beginner in these sorts of endeavours.

Start with a specific problem medical professionals face (exam prep, guidelines, real cases). Offer practical, exclusive content and a free trial to build trust. When they see real value, they’ll be willing to pay.

There is nothing wrong with being a noob to web publishing, if your niche, and background speciality is hardcore. Web publishing can be pretty much picked up and moved forward in a weekend.

There are a few membership sites, that allow you to manage a brand under their platform, and get paying subs, with allowing them to have videos and ebook content.

Some places charge you a commision, other places charge you a monthly fee. Go do your homework, on google and chatgpt to see what sites are good, and mainstream.

Start with one clear problem you solve for them. Exam prep, clinical notes, templates, or real world case breakdowns usually convert better than generic content. People join for practical help and time savings. I’d validate interest first with a small beta or waitlist.

If you're working in that field - ask yourself, what do you need. Also ask like 10 more guys at work, because often you are the only one person with this problem you're trying to solve. As for SEO and other things - it all can be done after you have a working prototype and is like 20-ish number on the list.

Also look up competitors, especially successful, and see why are people joining their community besides investing in ads.

Provide something free for joining as members then remind periodically about premium membership and how it will benefit them. Get their email, WhatsApp and as much contact as you can. Also, the website itself needs to be active so they have a reason to visit daily. Offer small rewards to share the website with their colleagues.

Start with free after you got enough member's then go ahead with premiums options and plans in this way your audience know your worth and the easily convert free to paid.

Best thing you can do is incorporate an affiliate program. Make it member exclusive (so only members can promote the site), they can then earn their membership subscription cost through referals. Sell other products outside the membership, and have those same products discounted to members.
