Noindexed vs crawled and how much to care

I have sites helping other sites and probably suffering from AI created content and getting wiped out. I still see these sites are being crawled though. For these helper sites that get noindexed, are they still serving my purpose if google crawl is yes? I guess you can say it pbn helper sites, depends on how you see it.

I index all my sites every 3-6 months and notice every time how stuff gets deindexed. I guess instead of adding more content I need to slowly rewrite content on what i have working to a degree.

Some say even noindexed sites that are still crawled pass juice.
I personally think they do not.

When PBN gets discovered manually, it receives Pure Spam penalty.
Part of it is removal from index.
Which means they don't want to serve itself in SERPs and help others.

if the content isnt solid, Google wont index it even if it keeps crawling Refreshing and improving what already there is definitely the smarter move right now

I think google sees the content as AI gibberish at the moment, which it is really. Would be nice to know for sure if a crawled site sill passing juice, I would not bother to reindex stuff.

If a site is noindexed, Google can still crawl it, but it won’t pass the same signals it used to. Crawl activity alone doesn’t mean the site is helping — Google needs to trust the content and treat the site as part of its visible ecosystem

My take is that deindexed one does not.
If you manage to index it again, it might.

Even if Google still crawls your helper sites, noindexed pages won’t pass real value. Rewriting and improving existing content slowly is a better long term approach than adding more weak content.

You can test this yourself: create a properly orphaned page, then link to it from an existing page that has internal/external links pointing to it, and has <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow"> in the head. Then see if the orphaned page ever gets crawled/indexed.

If a page is noindexed its backlinks are worth zero google may crawl it but it won’t count it, for a pbn or helper site to pass authority the page with the link must be indexed, and once a domain is flagged and deindexed, rewriting content won’t save it you’re better off abandoning it and starting fresh.

If those sites are noindexed, crawling alone does not really add much value anymore since they are not contributing signals the same way indexed pages do. Rewriting and improving the existing content quality and intent alignment usually brings more long term benefit than just reindexing thin pages.
