How far is meta with the duplicate and image detection in general?

i have my own phone farm and we are running multiple accounts on ig and threads. In the last week we were trying to figure out how far meta has come with image detection on threads. For me it seems like that they still only look at the metadata (which is clean usually for most pictures) and the pHash. BUT i am unsure what the algorythm does with something like nudity detection for example. Threads has always been a massively behind instagram so im not sure how good the algorythm is working yet. Does anyone have some experience when it comes to this?

EDIT: Also some bigger accounts post the same stuff everytime just a little bit different so i feel like the algorythm treats everything as new content then.

Okay, from what I’ve seen, Threads is stilll behind Instagram in image checks. Metadata and pHash seem to matter the most. Nudity detection is hit or miss, so you can’t fully rely on it being weaker. And yes, slight variations often get treated as fresh content. Curious what kind of patterns you’re testing on your farm right now...

From my experience threads detection still feels basic mostly hashing and metadata checks.
Anything subtle or slightly modified tends to slip through but I’d expect them to improve filters gradually especially for high traffic accounts.

To be honest i feel like they dont really give any punishments for duplicated content even if its 1 to 1. And with that i mean on seperated accounts.

In terms of image detection, they can detect the hash, audio and meta data. There are other things aswell, however those are ones that are vital.

Been running 200+ IG/Threads accs for ~8 months now. Dup detect is still mostly pHash/PDQ, so simple Topaz upscale + tiny noise + small crop/rotate = no dup flags across the farm.


Threads nudity check is way weaker than IG. Same borderline teasers that IG deletes in minutes stay up on Threads for days.


Only real issue is behavior clustering — if you push a bunch of accs with same content at the same time, reach dies for a day or two. As long as you pace it right, Threads is still super farm-friendly.

Yeah we ran a few tests yesterday and it seems like this is exactly whats happening. Chaning pHash minimal is mostly enough to get no reach loss at all. BUT if you post the same content 1 by 1 over multiple accounts you will get like 30 views max instead of 6k+

If you dont fully copy pages the algorythm doesnt detect something. Otherwise spam pages wouldnt work. Also for me it looks like as if duplication gives you short time flags maximum. (1hr-1week)

Hmmm i wouldnt say that. It seems like it can detect minimal changes in color and rotation. So its 100% pHash not hash only. As soon as you mirror a picture for example they have no chance and treat it as brand new

Are you able to share some info? For example do you do AI enhancing? Or just smaller geometry changes? Do you focus on changing the pHash? There are spoofers out there like spoofzy which dont do anything

From what I’ve seen, Threads’ moderation is still mostly metadata and perceptual hashing (pHash) rather than advanced content analysis. Nudity detection likely relies on Instagram’s backend tools, but Threads seems less strict and slower. Slightly altered repeated content often bypasses filters since the algorithm treats it as new.
