Hey guys, I don’t know if this is the right forum but just want to get something’s off my chest. I’m 20 years old and feel time is running out and feeling LOST. I don’t like to study for school and never liked and I am in university doing nothing. I tried to make money online with youtube channels, affiliate marketing, blogs, dropshipping (never fully tried just lost money and a lot more things.

The two things I really like the most in terms of business models are reselling replicas and dropshipping (but I don’t have enough money to start dropshipping). I tried to make some videos for instagram but felt a lot of pressure and ashamed of others and deleted everything, at the point I was too ashamed to go out the house. I don’t know what to do in my life,

I want to start earning money online and have some ideas but I just feel stuck to start and procrastinate and I just know my parents money is running short. I just want to be the best version of myself in every aspects but now I just feel lost and behind and care too much of other opinions. Sorry if my ideas are all lost in this text.

You’re not behind. You’re just stressed and overwhelmed, and that makes everything look worse than it is.

At 20, nobody truly knows what they’re doing. Testing things like YouTube, dropshipping, blogs. None of it was a waste. It’s part of figuring yourself out.

You don’t need money to start. You can make small cash from simple skills like editing, writing, thumbnails, or helping small businesses with content. Build a bit of income first, then try dropshipping properly.

The shame of posting online is normal. Everyone feels that at the start. You overcome it by taking small steps, not by waiting to feel confident.

You’re not stuck. You just need one small win this week. Pick something simple and doable, do it, and build from there.

You got time. You just need momentum.

I just got so many business ideas in my head but just don’t start. I also feel a lot the external pressure and approval of others to have money.

You’re stuck because you’re juggling too many ideas and worrying too much about what others think. That creates pressure, and pressure makes you freeze.

Pick one simple idea and take the smallest first step. Don’t wait for confidence. It shows up after you start.

People will always have opinions, but none of them matter when you’re building your own path. You don’t need approval. You need momentum.

I will work on selling a reselling discord on instagram and tiktok. I just lack the creativity to make the videos, I look on people doing the same as me to get some ideas and still feel lost.

That’s a solid start. If creativity feels blocked, don’t overthink it. Copying the style of others at first is fine. Think of it as learning, not stealing. Start simple: short clips showing what you’re selling, quick tips, or behind-the-scenes of your process.

Once you post consistently, your own style will naturally emerge. The key is just to start and iterate, Don’t wait for the “perfect” video.

Do you think it’s a good idea to make the videos talking in english to reach a global audience and be able to make more money or just target my country Portugal? I speak fairly decent english.

If your goal is bigger reach and higher earning potential, English is the better choice. It opens up a global audience and more opportunities.

That said, starting with your local language (Portuguese) can be easier. You’ll feel more natural, and competition is smaller. You could also experiment with both: post some videos in English and some in Portuguese to see what performs better.

Since your English is decent, even simple, clear videos in English can work well. The key is consistency, not perfect fluency.

"I'm 20 years old"

"time is running out"

ROFLMALOL.

Excuse me while I get back up off the floor after laughing my ass off so hard, and rolling around like a pig in the mud.

That's the funniest shit I've read in years. :-)

You're literally still wet behind the ears.

I mean, 25-27 is still pretty early in the game.

30-32, time is ticking, and you need to get your ass in gear.

40, you still have a chance if you keep your health in check, but by this point you should have established some serious kills and/or money.

50, yes, it's hard from here. Your energy/health aren't going to be what they were. If you're 50 and broke, it's a struggle. 50 and rich, able to buy peptides/supplements, you're fine.

60.. You've probably missed the boat here, but if you still have your health and energy, you can do well and your 70s and 80s will still be great.

But 20? lol.

You have 3-5 years just to build skills and then dominate from 25+. You don't even need to focus on making money at this point. I need to spend $5k a month on supplements and peptides just to function like you do rolling out of bed and eating some toast.

You don't need money. You can eat noodles and drink tap water and function at a high level.

Build your skills and relax. You have plenty of time.

I can post the videos talking in english and portuguese in the same account or same two separate ones? And what about editing, I know the basics because I did youtube shorts back in the day, but I feel lost because I want the same editing that is very popular and trending and just can’t recreate it. I want to do something just like https://www.instagram.com/proveehub?igsh=MTYzODBmZXNydG1hMA==, have a mask that is my identity and similar editing style.

Better to make two separate accounts. One for English, one for Portuguese, So each audience stays consistent.

For editing, don’t stress about copying perfectly. Break down one video at a time: note cuts, text, transitions, music, and try to replicate just one thing per video.

Using a mask is smart. Focus on short hooks, quick cuts, trending sounds, and clear text. Start simple, post consistently, and improve as you go.

If it is you in your profile picture I feel like you are a pretty experienced person in life, how can I find my purpose in this life? I am in university taking software engineering and although I really like the tech industry I don’t see myself working on this area (or having a 9-5 at all). What kind of skills you recommend me learning in these next 3 years? And how can I become content with my life?

How many times you recommend posting? I tried to run this business idea one time and as I focused posting 3 times a day I felt a bit lost.

@yessirbro First of all, you're not running out of time. Don't be too hard on yourself. You need clarity, else you could make some fast money and still lose it all because you're not calm. Also, make sure you're thinking long-term in whatever you finally chose to do. Don't overwhelm yourself with too much methods, as there are so many ways to make money you'll see on BHW. Just thought to give you some advice and wish you luck. You'll be alright.

You’re not lost, you just haven’t stuck with one thing long enough to see it work.

People always call me npc and I feel I am a bit of social awkward, don’t get me wrong I’m a pretty attractive guy but I don’t know do you got some tips for that? I feel like I am a lot into the hookup culture, I see friends having lots of girls and me with few (I barely try tho) and when it’s time to have something serious with some girl I just don’t feel content and go to another one or be alone.

I spend too much time on reels and tiktok, I feel that is killing me and my attention span.

Of course it's me :-) I wouldn't post some random dude in my profile. Although I'm 10 years younger in that picture. I'm old now.

University is a total waste of time. Especially software engineering. You'll learn far more at home reading books and writing code.

But you aren't going to make money in that path now. Vibe coders who are successful are engineers who have been coding for decades. You don't have time to get the base experience before the software industry changes. It's a waste of time.

Learn marketing, sales, copywriting, funnels, product creation, getting product market fit, dealing with customers.. Real business skills. That's how you make money.

You can still vibe code something half-assed and make $5k-$10k/mo without being a real engineer. The models are *that* good now.

I'd drop out of uni tomorrow. Complete utter waste of time created to make worker-slaves.

Focus on BUSINESS SKILLS.

Read stuff by Alex Becker, Alex Hormozi and Alen Sultanic.

You don't need much. Go watch Alex Becker's latest couple of vids about starting a SaaS. He gives you the blueprint. That is the legit blueprint he's given recently.

Learn marketing from Alen.

Watch a bunch of Hormozi vids and get his books. They teach you good fundamental marketing/copywriting.

Read a few copywriting books.

Go to https://swiped.co/ daily and study 1 sales letter. (I do this every day)

Jesus, at 20, if you study 1 per day for the next 3 years, you'll be a monster.

It's that easy. Forget software engineering, uni and all the nonsense that comes with it. You are wasting your time. Uni is only good for partying, but if you want to get serious now, then quit. You won't regret it. But, when you do quit, GO HARD. Don't fuck around. It's a major life decision, and you need to structure your life like a university degree after you quit. Use your brain and map out your own course from a combination of becker, hormozi and sultanic. That's all it takes. Just those 3. And read any books they recommend. If you want a quick simple starter book on copywriting it's ca$hvertising by drew whitman.

Good luck.

Yeah and the guys doing that just got lucky mostly and are only making money "selling the dream". Being an influencer is such a waste of time. You have a 1 in 1000 shot of success. Real business, you have a 1 in 25 shot on your first attempt. 1 in 10 second attempt, 1 in 5 third attempt and 1 in 2 on your 4th.
