since december 1 traffic to all my websites is dead. in one site I was getting 100 unique visitors a day. today? 14. motherfucking 14. and the 14 is trash. they don't call. they don't fill out the contact forms. probably bots. I am so depressed. I am afraid I will be forced to get a real job.
does anybody know what the hell is going on?

How long your site is been running and getting visitors for search engine?

years. this is not just one site. traffic is dead on all my sites.
I also felt the same back in 2021~2022, I totally quited search engine traffic as most of my traffic died in a matter of days. My advice is to get into paid traffic, it works better in my perspective

You’re not imagining it December nuked traffic for a ton of sites. Google pushed another heavy core + AI shift, and many smaller niches got wiped overnight. It’s not your fault, it’s the update chaos. Check GSC for sudden drops in impressions and AI Overview replacements. This month has been brutal for almost everyone, so don’t assume your site is “broken” it’s the algorithm storm. Stay calm and watch patterns before making big moves.

Your traffic drop is likely due to Google updates, indexing issues, or bot skew; check Search Console and site health to diagnose and recover.

Normal ,have it in mind you will bounce back,
Also get ready for other traffic channels,
Total dependency on Google is now a fluke

Google kept trying to keep people on their results page instead of migrating to the websites. After years of struggle, now they've achieved it with AI overview. The decline in traffic is consistent across the niches unless you're providing news/entertainment/products. The social media is killing even more traffic by engaging users for most of the time and keeping them busy. We are in a transition period.

Yeah, there was a silent update, and my sites are affected too.

On one of my sites, I'm having the lowest traffic count in 3 years, it's fuckin crazy.

I don't fret, it's December, Google wants more ad revenue.

You’re not alone — a ton of people saw traffic tank right after Dec 1, so it’s most likely Google shaking things up again. It doesn’t mean your sites are “dead,” just caught in the update mess. Give it a bit of time; these swings usually settle.

What is the update from Google guys ?. I did not hear any

Google AI updates are impacting different niches differently. like ecom is not affected bad because users tend to go to website but for an informational website, user just get info and go

At the end of November, my website lost its position, but it regained it by December 3-4.
Google is updating its search engine again.

Since the beginning of December, many sites have been hit hard by consecutive updates, so sudden traffic drops are quite common. You should check the dropped keywords, page quality and E E A T signals to see which part has been hit hard and then gradually optimize.

The future of SEO is ParasiteSEO stacks and high DR plateforms like Youtube that box in SERP ...

It looks like a lot of sites have taken unexpected hits this month, so you’re definitely not the only one seeing numbers collapse. It might help to check whether specific pages or whole topics lost visibility so you can spot what Google suddenly stopped valuing.

Your site probably got hit by google’s recent update which affected a lot of small niche sites,
google is favoring big brands reddit, and real businesses now, those 14 visitors you’re seeing are likely just bots,
which is why no one is calling or filling out forms, you do not single many site owners saw their traffic drop 80 to 90% in late nov and dec
check gsc to see if your pages were removed or just pushed far down in search results.

It might be a google update- check your analytics, fix technical issues, and focus on content quality. many sites saw sudden drops too.
