exactly same happened with me, the only deference is that they holding around 1k for me on my recent closed shop, 0 chargebckas as well, u need to know bro, that being a us resident comes with a lot of benefits (low closure risk payment processors) if u re selling clean stuff ofc, search that, and keep it up dude

Agreed being a US resident does help a lot in dropshipping but Airwallex is my main aim right now and they work in multiple countries. Why would they pause your payouts only after making $1K??

They do this every time a new shopify account hits roughly 10-20k.

Situations like this are rough, especially when the account has zero chargebacks. Shopify Payments will often pause or disable payouts if their system links your store to older accounts or sees mismatched verification data, even if the new store is clean.


At this point the best move is to keep everything documented and continue talking directly with Shopify’s risk team — only they can unlock the payout. Sometimes it takes a few rounds of verification or a manual review before they release funds.


For processors, the safer path is to look at well-established third-party options that work for US sellers with EU/UK customers (Stripe, PayPal, or other mainstream providers). They’re usually more transparent with verification and less likely to freeze payouts without detailed communication.


It’s frustrating, but staying patient and keeping everything clear with their support team is what usually gets cases like this resolved.

Far as I'm aware, new store could have 0 issues but I'm fairly sure Shipify Payments would still nuke it the account as soon as their risk mitigation systems or something links it to past issues like a previous high-chargeback profile.
Could appeal it but don't expect a fast reversal, as usual with these things (based on experience and because these things likely need a long review period).
For now, you'll want to explore alternatives so you can keep the cashflow going. See if Stripe, Payoneer, Paypal, etc.
Most of those should also work for EU traffic as a U.S. founder.
Rough spot, gotta say. Hope you get some resolution for it.

I’m really sorry—you’re not crazy, and this does happen: Shopify Payments often auto-links accounts via identity/IP/history and can disable payouts preemptively, even with zero chargebacks.


Your best move right now is to escalate a formal appeal for fund release, then quickly onboard a third-party processor (Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com) for EU/UK sales so cash flow isn’t frozen while Shopify reviews.
