hi guys, i have tried to use a residential proxy for a reddit account, it was going well, but one day i saw my anti detect browser said the IP is Ukrainian, (it was Slovenian) idk why and how the same IP showed different flag, i logged in to reddit and noticed i was shadowbanned, that being said, should i get mobile proxy instead or the residental is fine too just the provider was crappy

Most probably, the proxy provider was a bad one.

For proxies, this is the herarchy: 1st - mobile proxies, 2nd best choice: residential proxies.
I recommend you to take a look at the BlackHat World's proxies marketplace. If you need something custom, I recommend you to open an WTB thread.

Cheers!

As I recommend above, opening an WTB thread is a good idea. Post your requirements inside of it and you will be contacted by the proxy sellers.

Cheers!

It seems like the problem might be with the proxy provider instead of the type. I think you should try a reliable mobile proxy because they usually function better with geolocation and are less likely to cause problems. But if you transfer carriers, a decent residential proxy can also work.

Mobile proxies cost more but they mimic real users better, worth it for Reddit.

switch to mobile proxies, as they provide real and more trusted IPs, though they're a lot expensive than other types of proxies.

Your provider likely gave a flagged or mislabeled IP. Good residential proxies still work fine if they’re clean and stable, but mobile proxies are safer if you can afford them.

Sorry to hear. Mobile proxies work best for Reddit. They rotate within the same carrier network, so the country is consistent and your activity looks natural, which helps avoid shadowbans.

for most types of social media accounts - only 4g will work effectively

Yeah, sounds like a bad proxy provider. Reddit’s picky with IP reputation — go for a stable mobile or high-quality residential proxy with consistent geo. Cheap residential IPs often rotate or get flagged fast.

you can buy a reddit account with history and karma

Reddit’s sensitive to IP reputation, so even one mislabeled or reused IP can trigger a shadowban. Good residential proxies still work great for Reddit if they’re clean and have consistent GEO.

Maybe the issue comes from the proxy quality of that provider. You can try testing more proxies from the same provider or switch to another one. In general, both mobile proxies and residential proxies work fine for Reddit accounts, so if the quality is good, either type should be okay to use.

do you know good residential proxy that sells pay as you go? i havw tried froxy and proxy-cheap they both got banned after some time

You’re not alone—just last month, one of my Reddit accounts got banned too. It was working fine one day, and then suddenly I couldn’t use it the next. Can you believe that? I think it might’ve been something with the account, or maybe the proxy IP address caused it. Reddit is really seriously strict .

I bought a Reddit account that was over two years old for $6-8. It had 100+ karma and no messages. I work with built-in paid proxies in the Linken Sphere browser - it costs about $2 per GB. You can try Infatica or Nodemaven proxies, but they are almost twice as expensive.

I had one of my accounts banned before, and I'm really curious whether switching VPN nodes would affect my login environment on Reddit.
