I’ve been experimenting with Instagram ads lately and noticed results feel different than before, so I’m curious to hear your opinions on what works best, what’s worth trying, and what strategies you think are overrated this year.

Post reels. You can initially use Instagram ads to boost the post, however if you post reels and use hashtags that are specific to the post; you can get good reach.

I think you can try different methods. These are some of my summarized experiences that you can refer to.
IG ads still work, but the results feel less predictable than before. What helped me is treating IG more like its own ecosystem instead of expecting it to behave like Facebook.
A few things I noticed:

• Creative seems to matter way more this year. Simple native-looking videos usually outperform polished ones.
• Audience setups that used to be reliable are hit or miss, so testing small batches instead of one big audience helps avoid wasted spend.
• Broad can work, but only if the creative is strong enough. Otherwise it burns budget fast.
• What feels overrated right now is relying too much on interests. They do not seem as strong as they used to.

Nothing groundbreaking, but steady testing and keeping the ads looking native seems to give the most stable results for me.

I haven't run them in some time, but when I did I used the old school 1-2 punch method. (follow/like) I would do this manually for like a week. Then I would run ads after a new bubble of audience populated. It worked every week. However, I was micro-targeting a very specific niche, and keeping up with what was trending in the niche, then piggybacking off that audience. I sold both a digital and physical item and did well. 117k the first year in revenue and majority of it was all brought in through IG ads.
