@splishsplash
Hello sir, I wish you a productive workday.
I have a question and hope you can help me. How can I prevent my ranking from dropping each time I update an article (adjusting some elements in the article, providing additional information, updating information - new images)?

That's completely normal.

A couple of things happen.

1) Re-ranking takes place.

2) There are parts of the spam detection algorithm that will cause you to dance randomly after changes. That's why it's important after the changes when and if you drop not to revert. Leave it for 3-6 weeks. Let it stabalise.

That's how it catches you. It's checking for "SEO changes".

Ie, you change some h3's, then drop, then revert. Boom, you're caught.

That shows "I changed these to try and rank higher, not because it's a quality change for the users"

This along with Shaun Anderson's SEO blog is amazing.

Really top class stuff here as per usual Tom.

I wonder if the Google legitimacy filter is partly why Reddit is such a powerful parasite.

Since you're posting on a MASSIVE domain your post automatically gets the green pass.

And in the world of AI content being able to be created at a whim community engagement is a massive positive signal.

It is interesting to see YouTube now has embedded comments exactly like Reddit so clearly they're going the loads of comments = positive signal.

(I know YouTube ain't Google but they share similarities since they are owned by Big G).

Ignore all the brainwashed lefty posts in here, Tom, your knowledge is greatly appreciated by the silent majority here.

Sadly I was too late to vote in the poll.

Guys I know what Tom writes is usually contrary to the popular posts here like web 2.0 spam but for god sake please listen to him.

Him and Shaun Anderson are top TOP seos.

We're talking the equivalent of PhD level.

I just wish I listened to what he wrote when I first stumbled upon Tom's posts instead of trying to black hat Google.
