ISP vs. Residential for Warm-Up? (Data Usage Insane)

Hey everyone,

I'm warming up a small batch of semi-aged IG accounts and running into a serious data problem.

My plan was to use Residential proxies (from IPRoyal) for the first 7-10 days to build trust before migrating to a Static ISP proxy for long-term work
The problem is the **data usage is insane**. I'm using GoLogin with an **Android (mobile) profile**, and the `m.instagram.com` site seems to be pre-loading tons of videos and posts, even when I'm just scrolling slowly on the main feed. It's burning through my residential data budget way too fast.

My two questions:

1. Is it *really* necessary to use expensive Residential proxies for this initial warm-up on aged accounts? Has anyone had consistent success warming up accounts starting from Day 1 on a good Static ISP proxy ? Or is that a quick way to get them flagged?

2. Since I'm on a mobile browser profile, I can't use extensions like uBlock Origin to block the media. Has anyone found *any* other way to stop `m.instagram.com` from preloading all that content? Maybe specific browser flags or a setting I'm missing?

Just trying to figure out if I have to eat this data cost or if there's a safer, cheaper way to get these accounts stable.

Appreciate any advice. Thanks !

Start with residential proxies for the first few days to build trust, then switch to static ISP for long-term use.
To reduce data usage, block media loading in the browser settings, limit scrolling, and perform actions in short, controlled sessions.

From my experience, warming up your account is crucial, and most people prefer using mobile proxies for this. Some mobile proxy providers charge based on the number of IPs or data points rather than bandwidth, so it’s worth giving them a try. Otherwise, you may need to adjust your usage habits and switch to operating on a computer to avoid wasting unnecessary data traffic.

Hey but is it really safe to block media loading wouldn't Instagram detect it and think this not a normal user that's the concern so what you think ?

Hey can you recommend some cheap mobile proxies as want to try some first , also about switching to operating on a computer i tried that first but the data usage was getting too high that's why I switched to mobile browser profiles in gologin but the data usage remains same

For warming up, Residential IPs are still safer because they look like real home-user traffic and help the account build trust naturally. Starting on ISP proxies too early tends to trigger more checks. The data burn is normal during the first days — just keep actions slow, then switch to ISP once the accounts stabilize.

Either Mobile (not paying per GB) or ISP proxies make more sense for IG since IG has so many photos and videos. I recommend ISP proxies as you'll receive a fixed IP that you can assign to each account, making it look more humanlike given you're logging in from the same IP every day.

Static ISP proxies can work fine from day one if they’re clean and consistent, just keep sessions stable. For the data issue, disable autoplay in browser flags or limit feed loading through viewport emulation to stop Instagram from pre-fetching videos.

Yeah, that data drain’s rough. If your ISP proxies are clean, you can usually start with those just go slow at first. Try the lite version or throttle speed in GoLogin to save data.

mobile proxies with unlimited data, though it's much expensive than other types, the IPs are more trusted and work for me when warming up social media accounts
