Hi,

I have a few English articles that I’d like to translate into German (Deutsch).

I’m currently using ChatGPT for this. is it the right tool for accurate translations, or would you recommend any other tools or websites for better results?

ChatGPT with the right prompts is fine. An alternative is DeepL but ensure to use the paid version.

How about Google Translate? It won't do a proper work for you? Yes, the translation will need a bit "manual polishing", but it's always the case when using automated tools, not a human translator.

yes i like google translate as i can get readable translations

Chat GPT already translates better than Deepl.

ChatGPT’s solid for that but DeepL still wins for natural German flow. I’d use both and quick edit the final version for tone.

I’ve been using ChatGPT for translations too, and it’s honestly pretty reliable for most English-to-German work — especially when the tone doesn’t have to be 100% native. But if you’re aiming for natural-sounding German with local expressions, DeepL usually does a better job capturing the finer details.

Personally, I like running my content through ChatGPT first for structure, then giving it a quick polish with DeepL. Works like a charm. What type of articles are you translating — blog posts or something more technical?

ChatGPT is great for German translation but for extra accuracy it’s good to cross check with DeepL.

The best you can do is to test all of 3 tools : G translate, Gpt, Deepl. / combinations. In any case, you will need manual corrections if you work with technical texts.

gbt works well if you review the output afterward. Sometimes a quick human check can make the translation sound more natural.

If you can afford a native German speaker to go over the articles once they have been machine translated to humanize them, that would be better regardless of your use case.

can be a great starting point, especially for everyday content, but pairing it with some careful editing or reference checks ensures your german reads smoothly and accurately.

ChatGPT is good for English–German translation
but double-check tone and accuracy.
