Has anyone has experience promoting AI products? Do you target the industry they are looking to affect - like say accounting or learning - or do you try and just focus on advertising to the people interested in / looking at AI?

Good question niche targeting works best imo. Go after industries where AI actually solves pain points, not just “AI fans.” Test both angles though

You need to test both audiences. So with 2 different adset targeting the 2 different audiences that you mentioned, you will be able to decide when you see the results.

It's depends on the audiance for example if it's a marketing tool you can also promote it on subreddits of marketers this is your audiance.
There are planty of AI directories with a huge traffic you can try and promote there (Might be with a cost)
You can create cool reels and promote it on instagram,youtube,tiktok and facebook.

if you sell ai recipes, go to chef sites/forums/etc

From what I’ve seen, targeting the problem first works better than targeting “AI interest” alone. Most people searching for AI tools are just curious, but people in a specific industry already have a problem they want solved.

For example, if the AI tool helps with accounting tasks, promoting it where accountants hang out (forums, groups, niche sites) can convert better than broad AI audiences. AI interest can still bring traffic, but niche audiences usually bring the buyers.
