Is Facebook reach getting worse or just more competitive?

I think both of them are the problem. Facebook has recently tighten the policies more closely and people know how to make use of AI for their content to attract viewers

Reach has definitely dipped lately. Could be another quiet algo tweak or just heavier competition in the feed. Feels like FB’s pushing Reels and group content more than regular posts now.
The important thing is good creativity + a steady budget, not quantity. Each campaign should be 5 ad sets - 5 ads at a time. Instead of running a bunch of disjointed campaigns, focus on fewer, more targeted campaigns

It's true that there have been quite a few comments lately about the drop in reach despite good engagement, but you see people are saying that due to algorithm changes and high competition, the thing to do now is to test and choose the best optimization option.

Lately I’ve noticed my Facebook posts don’t get the same reach they used to, even with good engagement.
I’m wondering if the algorithm has changed again or if it’s just more creators fighting for visibility.
Anyone else seeing the same trend?
Recent data suggests FB’s organic reach has declined as algorithmic weighting now prioritizes paid placements and sustained user interaction over standard engagement metrics

Definitely feeling that drop too  Could be a mix of both algorithm shifts more creators joining the game. Time to adjust strategy and stand out again ;) :anyway:

It’s definitely getting harder to get traction without boosting or posting more often. A lot of niches like Forex, Crypto and Lifestyle are pretty convoluted these days on pretty much all socials.

Both can be the cause of low reach, if engagement is high but reach is low, you need to improve ad quality, split test to be able to accurately identify the audience to help convert better.

Yes, the algorithm has been slightly adjusted, but the main reason is still the increased competition for display. Every day, millions of new Reels, posts, and ads are released, so if the content is not good, the reach will naturally drop.

I think it's just bidding competition between advertisers

Yeah, reach has dipped for many, Facebook’s pushing newer formats like reels and story interactions more than standard post engagement lately.

Well not having the same reach to be exact, it's just getting more competitive since people in this generation relies to AI/ Technologies and diff: platforms to use and FB is one of them.
It really depends on what kind of topic that you will use that gains more an interest on certain circle or audience.
I believed you gotta have to catch the right audience and keep them entertain or maybe they wanna gain something from your area of interest then you'll have the right people :)
Hope this helps.

It's on an either-or thing. Competition is making reach go down. More and more "creators" are posting while fewer and fewer eyeballs are looking. AI has made churning out content easier than ever, so all platforms are flooded. Advertisers are also looking for attention and platforms of course are trying to display ads as much as possible which is also decreasing organic reach.

FB algorithms are constantly changing. FB doesn’t usually announce details, but recently there has been a strong trend of prioritizing Reels and short video content, prioritizing original content, promoting entertaining, personal content, rather than promotional/salesy. If you mainly post photos or text posts, your reach will often drop significantly.

Facebook seems to be favoring Reels and newer content formats, while regular posts and page updates get buried

I have also encountered the same situation as you and now I have actively used my ideas to create new content, with short film videos and I find that such content attracts a lot of views and likes from users. You can also try that method or maybe you will create content for your own posts.

Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing lately. Feels like the algorithm changed again or maybe competition’s getting tougher. Reach keeps dropping even on strong posts.

None of both. Facebook's algorithm now heavily favors paid content. Organic reach is declining as more businesses compete for limited attention.

Many advertisers are seeing a drop in Reach despite high engagement, a clear sign of algorithm changes and increased competition. In this situation, the solution lies in improving ad quality and increasing A/B testing. This testing not only helps you find the best optimization options, but also allows you to pinpoint the right audience, which is key to ensuring effective ad delivery and higher conversion rates.
