From 0 to domaining profit — Automating my way into the domain game

Smart strategy on cold outbound for keyword domains. Are you seeing better leads via parking/listing or via direct outreach?

You never know when a buyer is gonna come and grab any of your domains that is for sure, but in my opinion you are picking a lots of domain names that don't have any value.
The exploding topics tool that you mentioned looks handy + you are following some good domain seller on X.
Take a week off from buying but study the info that these guys from X are posting.

Spot on.

I think one of the main reason people will fail (and I might) is reg domain they like, without thinking about the selling part first.
It's easy to become "addicted" to buying new domains.

So far I'm sitting on 335 domains. Most of them will never sell, as you say it, they have no value. Ill now focus on handpicking what I know I can sell the week later. If not, it means it's not worth it.

I have a few good keyword domains that I will outbound as soon as the 60 day registrar lock is passed.

I went through a similar thing when .ai was first released... Even what I thought were strong ones like sonogram.ai are still unsold nearly a year later. Still holding though!

Sounds like an interesting journey Automation in domaining can really save time especially for checking expirations and bulk registrations

Yes I think seeing all those sales are quite unrepresentative of the real market actually: 90% of sales are done at low price between domainers. End-user barely buy anything, except real good domains.

"I have a few good keyword domains that I will outbound as soon as the 60 day registrar lock is passed."
This is one thing I don't understand, and I said this because I registered a domain like a 35 days ago and sold it 2 weeks later.
So I am assuming that you can put domain up for sale as soon as you register them.

Good luck. If you cant sell a domain for a long time, try developing it. A simple wordress setup, a fitting theme, 20–30 articles, and a few backlinks can make a big difference. Then try to flip it often works.

Yes they are listed on platforms, but for outbound, I'm under the impression that the 60 days lock, meaning that potential buyers have to create an account on the registrar I host them on, is a point of friction that buyer will have more hard time to accept than actual domainers.

Thanks. Ill think about this in a second time if I see nothing sells yeah.

Update: Automated Outbound System

Since my last update, I've been testing a more proactive approach instead of just waiting for inbound inquiries.

Here's the workflow I just built:

Domain → Keyword → SERP → Apollo → AI Filter → Lemlist

Step by step:

1. Domain → Keyword extraction
Take a domain from my portfolio (e.g., foldabletripod.com) and extract the target keyword
2. SERP scraping
Pull the top 20 Google results for that keyword — these are businesses already ranking/competing in that niche
3. Apollo enrichment
Feed those domains into Apollo to find decision-makers (founders, marketing heads, etc.) with verified emails
4. AI lead scoring
Claude analyzes evey lead of that domain / company and pick the most relevant one.
5. Push to Lemlist
Auto-import qualified leads into personalized cold email sequences

Will update with conversion numbers once I close a few deals this way.

Outbounding for domains is rough, do you know why? Think about it, if they wanted the domain they would have sought out the domain and tried to buy it already. The only time this wouldn't apply is if the domain you are trying to sell was not available for sale previously.

Curious about the efficacy of this approach so far.Have you seen any actual sales (liquidations or BINs) since you started this journey?

104 sent, 1 negative reply. I'll push to 1000 emails and see how it goes.

On the bright not, I had a $1002 sale on an inbound visit on CallType.com !

Not bad ! 20% of my renewal fees are covered with 1 sale.

Well done.

I should follow your steps because it has been cold here for the last 4 months. Not a single bite

good luck! I had a complex prompt that helped me pick potentially valuable domains out of hundreds and that made me some money before when i was in a clinch. definitely can make money with this method.

Update: This pushed my motivation!

Today I:
  • Launched domainsestate.com to list all my domains
  • Redirected all my domains from Atom to my custom personal lander
  • Added the full list to Sedo
  • Added the full list to Afternic

Let's trigger another sale soon!

@Elon Snup
I really like your site design.
I got a little bit jealous because my site domaintology.com doesn't have the eye candy that yours have.
My domains are with Porkbun, Afternic and Dynadot. A total of about 250 names.

I have listed on Sedo and Afternic and received multiple (3 very low) offers on some domains. So it's coming.
Also ran an algorithm on my site that put the less "popular" domain routinely and automatically in a deal section : https://domainsestate.com/deals/
