Hey there dear BHW Community i'm a veteran SMM seller on this platform for ages now.

That's my job for my last 10 years. i've never had any issues nor received anything like this before
here is what i'v received today , need an advice what to do further with that, i no longer provide this service anyway. i can pull down the sell points from the website but my issue is that my theme is outdated and i can't do much regarding the "Soundcloud bubble that i have there"

It’s smart to take down any references as soon as you can.

I hope you took down anything related to SoundCloud from your website within the timeframe they mentioned in the email. If you do this, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Already done that the moment I've received this notice, i have sent them multiple emails , even called their offices non answer during working time. feels like a huge bait scam from their side , these guys are going against international laws, and UN/EU logos on their front page, but they reach out listings and website owners without any legal right, they do not represent SoundCloud at all. and SoundCloud never hired them to do this type of activity that's what odd, soundcloud replied to my email, they said these guys use "[email protected]" without any permission, its a bandwagon they try to make some living, regarding Etsy, Amazon and eBay they does the same thing. and they are known for this shady practice and always acting on their own behalf without the trade mark owner

Maybe they're getting rid of the competition?

There were multiple attempts to bid on my domain prior this email, and around 5 days prior few similar domains to mine were created, they are killing projects on purpose , to later sell them or whatever >> but a lot of shady stuff have happened since the day they filled that thing against me, i haven't attached the pdf files here, just the email body.

Ignore. ;) you mudt be doing something right.

You got scared from one email? When you are providing such services, these things are common. Its better to authenticate such complainants before taking action. Generally when i used to receive such email, they gave more time.

Surely if you are a veteran seller, you know and expect this sort of thing? After all providing bot views and registering fake accounts is against the terms of service. Or you only just learned this on Thurs? lol

I received this but didn't take any action as of yet lol, It looks fake and also their pdf files the dates are wrong they said 1 year until a certain date but the 1 year date is feb 2025 which has already passed, so if they do come back to me I will tell them straight away and then only do it afterwards, I thought this will first be reported to my hosting provider before anything tbh...

I received a similar message about a week ago. What's your further experience with these emails guys?

Hi there,
It’s some sort of scam or their attempt to find some clients. We have received an email from them last night and it was about copyright infringement of our website photos. Photos that we took with our own team of photographers in our studio…So whatever they try to do isn’t genuine claim. We responded to that but not heard anything yet. It seems they made it up,
The company shows they’re in the UK but the guy that emailed us is certainly located in India. Dodgy practices…

I totally get where you’re coming from—it’s annoying to have that old SoundCloud widget stuck on your site when you’ve already retired the service. The quickest way to make it vanish is to drop in a tiny bit of custom CSS that tells your browser not to show that element. If your theme offers a “Custom CSS” field in the customizer or a place to paste extra styles, you could target the widget’s class or ID and set it to display: none. That change will override whatever hard-coded markup your theme is serving, and you won’t have to touch the theme files themselves.

I got an email from these guys, identical to yours.

What did you end up doing Slick? @SlickSocials
Hey there sorry for the late reply, i just removed any Soundcloud reference icons, titles, texts etc. and swapped it with something more relevant since no one cares about Soundcloud, not a biggy xD

Yeah, similar here. Though, people still buy Soundcloud stuff.
