When i first registered here on BHW i could find interesting things like: Leaked Themes/Courses/Case Studies/Tutorials and so on.

Now, if you take a look at the main page, all the topics are something like
"New to seo, searching for X"
"Marketplace Topics, with no up-to-date reviews, but bumps from others".
"Presentations".
"What should i use?"
"My website got X, help"

In my oppinion, the forum has declined from an intelectual "BHW SEO Guide" to a "Social Network Chat".
No actual value in the topics, but same content under different names, that has been discussed long time ago. Most of the users neither know how to describe their problem.

What do you think?

this probably has something to do with the fact that SEO is not what it used to be. Five years ago (by the way, I also joined in 2020 :p ), people (myself included) were still doing SEO, nowadays AI is all of the craze, so I don't think there are many tutorials you can make on AI. Even a passionate hater of AI, and an AI-illiterate dude like myself could learn to use this with just a few hours of trial and error, so I don't find any value in a course on using the not intelligent AI.

yeah, I saw this too... also, many of these "users" are bots, they all post the same things and in the same format, so they're easy to spot. Sometimes I do report them, but they're overwhelming and I can't keep up with them. I'm but a mere human, with limited resources :)

But regarding the leaked themes, I'm not sure what you're asking about exactly because in the past there was Festingervault that used to offer almost every premium Wordpress theme and plugin you could think of almost for free (I got access to his entire collection for like $149 once-off payment, which is utter rip-off given the value he provided... until they did him dirty, the fucker that sued him had even declared after he's won the lawsuit that he feels sorry and ashamed for what he's done, so yeah... these are the times we live in, full of crooks, greedy pigs, megalomaniacs, and outright psychopaths)

But there are still people who offer stuff similar to Festingervault. Maybe not as good (I think the themes and plugins are cracked), but they could fall into the "leaked themes" category if you're bold enough to think of them like that :)

Anyway, times change, man! And also people get nostalgic, too, and in regards to your questions both are true, I feel the same way quite often...

Things change over time. I joined in 2018 but used to lurk here long before that. I've seen it changing over years and by change I mean significant changes.

Things evolve in digital marketing, newer people join the forum and kinda replace the old active users.

And to answer your question about leaked themes and courses, there are a ton of websites out there that do this already. People who used to leak them here did so to build a rep or market their own service.

Change is the only constant.
Like pointed out above, new users, new staff, new changes in IM.

No platform stays the same for multiple years.

I joined in 2020 but that's we can say was a different era considering the changes that happened ever since (AI, TikTok, Covid, etc.) For instance, a method that worked in 2020 I'm sure it can't work right now because things have changed. So when you say "different content that has been discussed long time ago", you should consider changes in time.
Either way, I still find this platform super helpful. Maybe there are some bots as you say but in the midst of those bots, you'll find some really useful info.

Yea, the vibe is definitely different. I've lurked on this forum since before 2020. I learned a lot just being an outsider looking in. The amount of information the members of this community offered was beyond massive. Now I feel like I have to cherry pick through superficial conversations just to find something worth engaging with.

I really hope this is just a moment in time and we get to see the forum back in its best form : )

You are all members of this community. You are all equally capable of driving it to places you think are better. If you see something that you don't like or could be improved or have suggestions as to how we can improve BHW, then act on them. We're always striving to improve and make this a better place for all of our (real) members.

Okey, i'll start first:
I propose that we create a topic: "Black Hat SEO Index". In that topic we will do something like

<Title with link for content X> - and so for all the basics from that section, to avoid duplicate posts or topics that are on the same thing. For example why we should let users post 10 topics on "Do you think my website got a shaddow ban?" when we can redirect the user to the BH Index Topic where he could find a tutorial / case study on this thing.

I know many SEO things change over time, but posts can be updated aswell.

I always liked quality content over quantity.

Example:
Do I Need to File Taxes for My Newly Formed LLC?
Are blogs still getting good traffic, or do videos perform better now?

something like this.

If people agree, i can create and take care of such a topic in my free time.

you're getting older and realise how many low iq people are around us. however, you're right in a sense that it was more sauce before.
I think that old users got sick of spoonfeeding newbies or they have chosen a smart way (to profit from this). but I'm glad that there is still an old way to talk to people from the industry. many forums went bust and didn't stand the test of time.
maybe one day we'll see a 404 response from BHW. who knows...
