Question About Link Building with Money Robot

I have a question regarding backlinks created with Money Robot.

When I analyze competitor backlink profiles, I see that many of their backlinks overlap with the same link lists generated by Money Robot. However, in the Money Robot software version I’m using, there is no option to set the anchor text ratio for URL anchors—it automatically generates them. For generic anchors, there is an option to adjust the ratio, but not for URL anchors.

The strange thing is, when I check my competitors’ backlink profiles, they are clearly generating a large volume of links that look like Money Robot–style backlinks, but I don’t see any URL anchors or generic anchors in their profile. That makes me think they might not actually be using Money Robot. But at the same time, when I check the backlink domains, they overlap with typical Money Robot domains.

Does anyone know what tool they might be using to generate these kinds of backlinks?

What you are seeing is quite common. Competitors may still be using Money Robot–style domains, but with:

1. Custom anchor setup – They might be running additional tools (like GSA SER, RankerX, or custom scripts) to clean up or modify anchors after initial posting.

2. Tiered linking – Often, they use Money Robot for mass domain generation, then filter/adjust anchors at Tier 2/Tier 3 with another tool. That’s why you don’t see the typical URL/generic anchors in their first-tier profile.

3. Private lists or modified templates – Some sellers modify MR site lists, so while the domains overlap, the footprint is reduced (anchors, ratios look different).

So they may still rely partly on MR, but also combine it with other SEO automation tools or custom anchor settings.

If you want to replicate this, you’d need either:

A mixed setup (MR + GSA or RankerX), or

To buy optimized lists/templates from providers who already control the anchor text distribution.

There is no replacement of manual link building. Google never value a lot of backlins. 1 quality backlink is far better than 50 spammy backlins. Have you checked toxic score of your competitors?

Hi, thanks for clarifying.
What you’re describing (MR still forcing URL anchors even when you tweak settings) is pretty common — MR doesn’t give full control on anchor distribution.

That’s why many SEOs combine it with other tools (like RX/GSA) but also with custom lists or scripts to filter out those URL anchors after the links are created. Some providers even sell pre-optimized MR lists where the footprint is reduced (anchors look cleaner).

If you’ve already tested MR + RX/GSA and still see URL anchors, you might want to:

1. Export the MR output and clean anchors manually with a script before Tier 2 posting.

2. Or use RankerX/GSA only for the Tier 1 anchors and push MR to Tier 2–3 where anchor ratio matters less.

3. Alternatively, check providers who advertise “custom MR lists with controlled anchor ratios” — these exist on marketplaces/forums.

That could explain why your competitors’ profiles look cleaner (same domains but without the obvious URL/generic anchors).

Money robot owns the domains money robot posts to. If you are not posting with money robot the posts on their domains are quickly deleted. If these are in fact money robot domains then they are not posting with a custom tool.

Maybe they are spinning the anchors into the content directly?

I also think they might putting spinned anchors without the default settings of Money robot directly inside the text. Domains are the ones generated from Money Robot (i checked a report of generated links and the sites are there in the money robot report) so probably they just put their custom text and then also add their spintaxed {anchor1|anchor2|anchor3} anchors in spintaxed format asking software to use 100% keywords in order to make it only use their own inserted anchors and URL variation style anchors.

At least with desktop Money Robot (didn't try with web version) you could add some html in the article builder wizard and add embeds and custom HTML hyperlink as well as the spintax.

Ah, that makes sense so they’re basically bypassing the default settings to push only their own anchor text and URLs.
