While browsing Google, I often come across many big websites that do not have any single ad on their website. They have very good content and also presentation on website. If they are spending so much on the website, why are they not putting ads on the website ?

it’s usually because those big sites are focused on branding or building authority rather than quick ad revenue. Sometimes they make money through sponsorships, affiliate deals, or selling products/services instead of running standard ads.

I don't have ads at the moment, because I want users to come back. I will consider introducing them once the website is heavily used.

Some websites earn money through affiliate links instead of ads.
Now affiliate marketing through websites is not very popular because most programs have reduced their commissions.

Maybe they plan monetize their content later. Did you check if they are selling something else online like courses etc?

Many big sites skip ads to prioritize user experience, build trust, or focus on other revenue streams like subscriptions, affiliate sales, or product sales.

They probably make money through affiliate links or sponsored content instead of display ads.

They might be selling sponsored links.

They may have delayed monetization plans or are using other methods like building email list or selling sponsored links or promoting affiliate products

They probably monetize on selling guest posts / paid advertisments. they want to keep their users coming back so they avoid those ads

Yeah, you’ll notice that a lot. Big websites usually skip ads because that’s not how they make money. Most of them sell their own products, services, or memberships, or use the site for branding and lead generation. Some have sponsorships or affiliate deals that pay way more than AdSense. And for media or corporate sites, ads can hurt the user experience or brand image.

So it’s not that they don’t want ads — they just have smarter ways to earn.

They make money from subs, partnerships and sales of services. Not placing intrusive advertisments is just one way to take care of your image.
