Dropshipping used to be a “hot” online business model because of its low startup cost and easy entry.
But nowadays, I see quite a few challenges:
  • Heavy competition: too many sellers, overlapping products.
  • Low profit margins: rising ad costs and higher shipping fees.
  • Pickier customers: long delivery times hurt trust and conversions.
  • Stricter platforms: Shopify, Ebay, Amazon… tightening policies and approvals.
Do you think dropshipping is still a profitable model today?

Honestly? Too saturated. Unless you have a unique angle or influencer collabs, it’s better to look at something else.

Dropshipping isn’t as easy as it used to be. Profit is still possible, but it now comes down to branding + faster fulfillment. Those who just copy-paste products usually struggle

Simple answer is NO, the amount of efforts and capital it requires to make it profitable is not worth it. Its better, invest your time in building a Instagram, pinterest, snapchat accounts or something similar.

Dropshipping can still work, but not the old “copy-paste” way profit now comes from niche focus, strong branding, faster fulfillment, and creative marketing. It’s harder, but with the right strategy, it’s still profitable.

The model isn’t dead, but lazy dropshippers relying on TikTok ads alone are

Dropshipping isn’t dead, but the “easy money” phase is over. The key now is niche/branding, faster shipping with private agents or local warehouses, and mixing organic traffic with ads. Profit’s still there, but only if you treat it like a real business instead of a quick hustle.

It worth it for gurus and course sellers, that business model of selling chinese stuff + fb ads is garbage in 2025 and it has been a garbage for some years

Dropshipping can still work, but it's tougher now. Many sellers are competing, so it's harder to stand out. Profit margins are smaller because ads and shipping cost more. Customers want faster shipping, and delays can lose their trust. Also, big platforms like Shopify and Amazon have stricter rules. So, dropshipping is possible but requires smart choices and patience to make money these days.

Still use CJ for testing, but private agents and niche suppliers with local warehouses give better margins and faster delivery. That’s where the real edge is now.

Dropshipping used to be one of the easiest ways to start an online business — low startup cost, no inventory, simple setup. But now it feels a lot tougher: too much competition, shrinking margins, higher ad costs, and stricter platform rules.

It's not dead, but it's a real business now, not a get-rich-quick scheme. Gotta put in the work.

Dropshipping can still be viable but only with strong product research clear branding and reliable suppliers to stand out in a crowded market

In most cases, it doesn't worth it anymore. But for example, if you have a traffic source to your app, website or social media page, you can monetize it with dropshipping and print on demand

Dropshipping still works but it is much harder now. You need unique products faster shipping and strong branding to stand out. Generic stores rarely profit. Focus on quality offers and long term customer trust

True, I think the hardest part now is standing out. Everyone can open a store in a few clicks. It feels like unless you build a strong brand or use faster logistics, dropshipping just keeps getting tougher

Yeah, it’s still profitable but not as easy. Success now comes from branding, faster shipping, and niche focus. The old “copy-paste” dropshipping model doesn’t work anymore real value and customer trust do.

Exactly, now it’s all about branding and real value

Its always going to be worth it aslong as you do it well. the brands nowadays are cloning other successfull stores and whitelabeling rather than just straight up dropshipping but the core principle is there, the value is in the branding and marketing always

Good question, dropshipping can still work, but only with the right approach. It’s less about easy profits now and more about strong branding, niche focus, and fast fulfillment. Success comes from offering unique value, optimizing shipping, and building customer trust instead of chasing trending products.
