Have a website that has messed up links. lots of anchors everywhere but ranking and generting leads. I want to redo the site. But because their are so many anchors are site site on every page i might lose rankings for a while.

If your site’s got messy links but is still ranking, don’t rush the redesign. First, figure out which links and anchors are actually helping you. Keep those, clean up the spammy ones, and if you’re changing URLs, make sure to set up proper 301 redirects. Try to keep your site’s structure solid and make your internal links make sense. When you launch the new version, watch your traffic and rankings closely so you can fix any hiccups quickly. With a bit of care and planning, you can refresh your site without losing what’s already working.

you may map everything (Old Url's) to redirect to their most relevant new page, and start tracking every single thing to correct in the right way, it'll be tough but will help you to avoid long term risk

Before touching anything, try to understand why it's working despite the messy structure. When you redo, do it in stages. Focus on one section at a time.

If it’s ranking, I wouldn’t rebuild in one go. Maybe better updating it one section or page at a time?

If the site is ranking and generating leads, avoid a full rebuild at once. Redesign in stages—keep existing URLs and anchor structure, then gradually clean up internal links. Use redirects and test pages before a full launch to preserve rankings.

Begin by understanding what makes it work despite the disorganized setup. Then refine it step by step, handling one part at a time.

Those messy links might be helping your site, so when you rebuild, try to keep the same link paths.

Don't change anything or you will lose your rankings.

whats with the colors lol ?

I also rebuilt a site like that, the ranking initially dropped slightly but stabilized after I kept the main URL and carefully set up redirects. The important thing is to preserve the internal link structure.

It's smart to be careful because rebuilding a site with a lot of current anchors can affect your rankings if you're not careful. Before you redesign, I suggest that you first check all of your internal links and plan out your redirects. Keep your best-performing URLs, keep your important anchor structures, and use 301 redirects when you need to. This way, you can change the look of your site without sacrificing your SEO progress.

For me, all colors mean a lot; maybe it’s different for you, but please let me enjoy them, and I hope you get to enjoy the colors of the world too. I used colors here just to make it look a bit special, otherwise, doing this kind of thing takes up a lot of time. Anyway, thanks a lot for noticing it so carefully. I really appreciate it!

It sounds like a site rebuild is a good idea, but make sure to plan redirects carefully and keep the best-performing pages intact. You might see a temporary drop in rankings, but it will pay off long-term if the site is cleaner and more user-friendly

Redoing the site is a good move, but you may see short-term ranking drops if heavily anchored pages or URLs are altered.
Reduce risk by implementing 301 redirects, maintaining key internal links, and preserving valuable content throughout the redesign.
