Hey all,

As the title says I have some Insider Knowledge that can make someone anywhere from $5k-$100k depending on how much they start with. The problem is, I don’t know how best to monetize it so I thought I’d try here. Here’s some info on the knowledge:
  • It involves a sort of “trading” in a way, that’s the best term to use for now
  • I’ve found a way to completely & profitably automate it
  • I can’t do it myself as I’m not in the right country + there’s limits on how much an individual can make so you’d be wise to sell it anyway
I could sell this knowledge with a one time payment, $5k-$10k for the lot but I’m sure I’d struggle to sell at that price. I could also run a subscription but once someone has the knowledge, they can cut me out and do it themselves thus ending the subscription right away. The final option, is they pay me a % of what they earn, but this is difficult to enforce as far as I know.

Has anyone here sold something similar in the past? How did you go about it? I should also mention that the more people that do it, the harder it may become.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you want to sell these, first you need to make this knowledge bring income to someone, or you have strong evidence that this knowledge is profitable, instead of thinking about how to sell it first. People will not pay for a few words. You should understand what I mean.

The problem is if i do that, they can take the whole method and do it themselves. Unless I can find a way to add some sort of value that keeps them around. The method is automated though so they can do it all without me, the only edge I have is the information itself

The best way is to sell the knowledge as a book or course.
If the method actually makes people money, sell ancillary service around it for the tools/things they need to make or automate it.
Then build a list of people who bought it and sell them other things - you'll have a proven track record from this one lesson (assuming it actually works) that you can then sell them other things with the trust you've built, even stuff that isn't as foolproof.

Hmm interesting thanks for the reply. What would you suggest pricing the initial Book/Course at? Assuming they can make $2000-$100,000 (Depending on how much they start with)

It depends on your audience - know that it'll be difficult to sell anything for too high a price.

You're also assuming that people will take action on it, most people will buy it and probably never actually read or do anything with it.

I'd go for something smaller like $50-100 with the focus on the lower end to sell mass units, while also having specific CTA in the book that link to your other offers (automation tools etc).

If it's a niche product, you can increase the price higher, but it all depends on who you're going after (general consumers need a lower price point, while specific professions and niches can have a higher price).

If it's a legitimate EV+ sports betting inefficiency that thanks to the OBBBA (god I hate the abbreviation) essentially making professional sports wagering for profit impossible by imposing a 10% additional juice that goes to the IRS on each bet one does not hit (essentially adding 10% to the house edge which, well, considering that without the juice the house is already at between 67-73% correct on ML but long term betting on favs is EV- thanks to the juice to begin with), you might as well as take it offshore and keep it to yourself. There is a bipartisan scramble to get rid of the provision and it's already in committee which is quite fast considering it really only affects around 400k people but in the long term would destroy the entire on-shore casino industry. Bills that affect far more people in far more sympathetic settings routinely don't make it that far.

If it's something else, ignore all that, carry on. Although the only real money you will make touting is the first copy you sell. Ideally if you are selling a knowledge-based product it should be a framework and not the final product so that your buyers would benefit from augmenting what you provide with their personal and hopefully unique to their own circumstances elements that are difficult to replicate, and would also be in competition with each other to an extent so that they would not cartel-ize to cut you out. Easier said than done, but it has certainly been done before.

It's similar but not affected by the change with OBBBA. Some good news though, the Fair bet act has about a 15% chance of passing but the WAGER act is much more likely. Either one would solve the tax problems for +EV Sharps

Thanks for the advice too, very helpful

I understand what you mean and I've been in this position before. the mental prep you do with your customers is where the magic happens but if done right, they will always think there's something else they need you for. hit me up if you want to discuss furthe, my tg on my profile

Before focusing on selling, prove the value by showing real results or case studies. Without that, no one will trust or invest in the knowledge.

I have an idea. Use a remote desktop/laptop and buy an account to trade.

You need to try and run some test campaigns for other peoples and build a reputation before you can sell good

To avoid early drop offs, maybe structure the deal as a partnership where you provide ongoing support or updates. That way, clients stay connected and the value keeps flowing both ways.
