One of my colleagues' friends has claimed to have earned $ 30,000 USD within a month through keyword research. Is it really possible? The confusion arises because he's not sharing the details, how!
30K USD only through Keyword Research?

unless he sold this keyword research to a lot of folks (or to few folks but at insanely high price), or he's nailed a great churn & burn project I don't see how it's possible....
Or maybe he's used one of those selling platforms (Etsy, Shopify, etc)... I guess that's possible too if you figure out a few tricks...
How about you tell your "friend"... "look here, chump! Show proof or we're not friends anymore". If he really is your friend he has no issues at least telling you whether this was done with SEO, offline marketing / landing big ticket clients, or using PPC, or anything else... He has to at least mention the source of traffic / business model, otherwise he's either not your friend, or he's some sort of guru trying to lure you into his new course

it might be possible that he could find some clients, but who will pay as much as that makes 30 K within a month! FYI, he's a single-handed service provider, not a team.

if he sold $500 worth of keyword research to 60 people it adds up. And if he has a talent for marketing / salesmanship and found the right gullibles it's definitely possible...
Also, he could have mailed to a responsive mailing list / solo ads list, I did see similar results about 15 years ago that some "gurus" pulled with these advertising mediums. With the right product, the right (qualified) audience and the right salespage you can make $50k in a week...
But anyway, these are just ideas that are popping into my head, but until you ask him for some details (the traffic source and / or the promotion method should be enough for us to figure something out), we can only blind guess...
