I did a lot of dms in June, so long time ago. What is happening now with accs? I have strong accounts

A few questions, if you don’t mind?
- you did the mass dm from different accs, was it 1:1, like 1 acc for a each comment or you did 1 acc for multiple comments?
- you got the amazing conversions because your offer in the dm was a great solution for the user that was searching for that and you got that info from his comments in a specific sub-reddit?
- did you use one different url/comment that redirected to the offer?

OFM agency abuse chatting so hard, with private and public bots. In my experience PRAW have 0 chance to work, those bots were like selenium or something like that( not expert in that area - basically open your browser and write as VA).

Maybe it can work if you manage to have idk 10-20 VA - but with bots chances are slim

How about anti-detect browser with RPA automation? Currently exploring that

as PRAW using only for scrape subreddit

Looking for a way to do mass dm on Reddit,

What is your suggestion on software which I can use for that? Is it hard to make own software?

Is there some services for that already? Like I give accounts / usernames and it dms

You can use Python with Reddit API and Selenium to build your own, but it's risky. Some private tools exist that handle bulk DMs if you provide the accounts, but they’re hard to find and not always safe.

Freshly banned form Reddit here. Here's what I did:
1. Had a legit account, around 50 karma, maybe a year old
2. It was a legit account, meaning I used it for browsing on my phone etc, so real user, not a bot
3. At first I was messaging 2 users per day, I was getting a message (Account not established) when I tried messaging more than that, so that set the expectation that their rate limiting and validation is doing their thing, so I can just increase the messages when I improve the account
4. I improved the account and suddenly I was able to message more users, so I did around 15 per day, 7-8 in the morning, and same in the evening
5. I didn't want to push it even though I relied on their validation to stop me if I overdo it.
6. I got banned after two days, the reason was spamming users with the same identical message

So yeah, unless you have a different message for every single user, or use multiple accounts, I don't think cold outreach on Reddit is possible. (Not to mention automating it in bulk)

Reddit banned me also recently for spamming it was like 2-3 months account, manually karma like 200+

I don't think it's a good times for reddit... if I would do dms I would prefer other platform

I can vouch for what @petarapps says above. Had a 3 year old account with 1500+ comment karma that was recently banned for spamming DMs. No reports or warnings on the account at all. I must have sent around 20-30 DMs per day for more than a week, but where I screwed up was sending the same text in most of them. So even if you DM manually, you'll need to switch the wording around to keep the account alive. Not sure if this is possible with automation, not my area of expertise.

Also, it's just good practice in general to keep switching up the wording on comments as well, in addition to DMs; they can and do ban for spamming on either of these.

20-30 DM's /day is way too high for an organic user for over a week's time. Maybe should have kept it much lower or spread across accounts?

Actually, contrary to popular opinion on here, it's not a problem at all when the account is aged (usually hits a sweet spot somewhere in the 6 month-1 year period), and has consistent organic activity over this period and no reports/warnings etc. I've done it with other accounts and they're still working, and with one of my oldest accounts which had over 8000 comment karma and 8+ years old, I would easily send 100+ DMs a day for weeks, and also make 100+ comments a day without any problem at all. The older the account gets, the more it's allowed to do, assuming it checks their other boxes of course (like consistent activity, no repetitive posts or obvious promotion, and no reports/warnings).

So I have three different case studies I can share.

1) The account I mentioned above: 3 year old account with good standing and no reports, 1500+ comment karma with which I was sending 20-30 DMs a day on average. Banned out of the blue one day for spamming DMs.

2) A 4-year account, also with good standing, no reports etc. and ~1300 comment karma, was also DMing around 15 or so people each day with the same message for over 3 weeks. It was warned and put on a temp ban for a week, and then reinstated and is working fine now. I've been switching up the DMs, and try to change at least a few words in each DM I send, or write up a bunch of different versions of the message and send them alternately. I don't think just changing the first line will help, it's better to change the overall message; even having a few different words in each sentence should help.

3) My main account, which was 8+ years old, with over 8000 karma, no reports and many followers too, This account would have been indestructible if not for my own goof up, using it to comment on a subreddit I was already banned on while using an alt account. So before this happened, I was regularly sending 50-100 DMs a day for weeks on end, and they often had the same or very similar text, only with the username and some minor details changed. No issues at all over the years I did this, and like I said, the reason it was ultimately banned has nothing to do with DMs.

So I guess some accounts are just very near ban-proof unless you break their rules like I did (and they're more strict about some rules than others, like ban evasion which brings the banhammer down pronto).

We have tested this theory. we built our own reddit auto DM software and ran it for about a year with 6 personal accounts without getting banned, but what we learned over time is that conversions swing a lot depending on the subreddit. DM isn’t “dead,” but it’s not universal either. it’s way more context dependent than people think. For us we ended up making it into a reddit comment ai agent. But that's just our experience. One thing is if you actually message DM the OP when the thread is hot, you might get a reply

The last part isn't true. I have been able to send 200+ messages a day on one account for the last 5 months. The account has 1 karma but is around 1.5years old
