Not having a skill and confused on what to learn

Life has dealt with me a lot. Spent my young age working a 9 - 5 job, lost my parents early so I couldn't go to the university. In my struggling I met a female friend who was supportive and understanding. Struggled to open a business for her and we had 2 kids together. Unfortunately she became rude and arrogant towards me, due to the fact that I rejected her advice of doing internet fraud which is a big business in my country. Fraudsters drive Mercedes and big Toyota SUVs here, the police and crime fighting agencies are on their payroll.
She left me and took my kids away, I even heard she is currently in a relationship with one of the online fraudster.
I almost took my life, but was rushed to the hospital by neibours. I've been battling depression since January.

I want to prove to these fraudsters and her that I can make money genuinely online without defrauding any body. And I want to also hack and expose them. So I chose cyber security I'm currently learning networking and Linux. But cyber security require time and effort, I might not be that good even after a year. And I need to eat, and take care of myself while learning. Luckily my late parents have a house which can bring in around $523 annually. So I'm considering dedicating 6 months to learning a skill that can at least bring in $100 - $200 monthly.
From my tour on the forum so far, CPA, Affiliates marketing, and working as a VA can help me earn this amount after 6 months of learning. I'm more geared towards VA due to the fact that I don't have capital to implement anything be it CPA or Affiliate. There is an 8 week VA course by ALX Africa for around $5 monthly I'm considering enrolling with them.

So I'm seeking recommendations if there are any other skill I can learn, my longterm career goal for now is cyber security, with internet marketing on the sides. But I'm lost on which area of internet marketing to learn and focus on. Help me with your opinions and recommendations please.

I’m really sorry you’ve had to go through so much . It takes a lot of strength to even share your story and keep pushing forward . Don’t pressure yourself to learn everything at once - maybe start with VA work for steady income while slowly building skills in marketing or cybersecurity. Even small steps forward countt. Be sure you’re not alone in this, better days will come.

Cybersecurity is a strong long-term goal but slow to pay off. Start with virtual assistant work low cost, steady demand, quick income. Affiliate marketing and CPA need capital or marketing skills, so less ideal now. Learning content writing or social media management can boost earnings fast. Focus on skills that bring money sooner while steadily building cybersecurity knowledge. Stay consistent and patient.

Cybersecurity is a great goal but it takes time. For now, focus on VA work it’s easy to start and pays faster. Affiliate and CPA need more experience or money, so skip them for now. Also try writing or social media tasks to earn quicker.

VA work is easier to find and start on first. once the bills are paid, you can explore what else you want to learn. it may be something completely different from your options now. focus on the journey and daily improvements

Here is a wake up call. There is no magic skill that you can learn that can gurantee you an income. Otherwise there wouldn't be any unemployment in the world, and the governments around the world wouldn't need to provide any job finding services. lol They would all just say "Sure go learn this gurantteed skill on the internet that someone says ona forum can make you a living!" lol You want the money, buckle down for years and learn and work. As much work on your content and assets as possible. If i knew a women like that, i would be glad she was gone with my kids. Who wants that hassle? lol.

Nope don't do it, unless the course provider has their own job flow or posted job ads before for their students. Your best bet is just apply for VA work job ads in your own country and learn from on the job experience and then apply for more VA roles via freelance platforms.

The $5 u would have spent just put into a deposit in bank monthly and grow it or you can buy a solid coin in crypto like SHIB, DOGE, etc coins which celebrities have who are wealthy like Elon Musk has backed before just make sure to put the money in coin that has lowest price since even a 0.00001 to 0.00002 can double your money

Starting as a VA makes sense since it’s low-cost and can bring steady income, while you keep learning cyber security. For internet marketing, things like social media management or freelance copywriting are doable and can grow alongside your long term goals.

Run ads using threshold accounts from some platforms that still allow that. All you need is a debit or credit card and a good offer or product.

Just apply for VA roles, you dont need $5 training for that. Also consider content creation on Youtube-you only really need a phone , an internet connection and your ingenuity.

Right now you should be seriously looking into AI and coding. It's what's driving home the $$.

There's a lot of mixed opinions and advice in here. Dont over complicate things. You have a plan of becoming a cyber security expert in the future, which is great. If you feel you can afford the $5 course then by all means, go for it. You can also learn more from free sources online.

My advice is: make up a plan and stick to it. Spend your free time learning more skills. Some VA work today use a lot of AI so make sure you learn how to write good prompts and how to utilize the different AI tools available.

You’re thinking in the right direction by separating short-term survival from long-term goals.
Cybersecurity is a solid path, but it’s not fast. For the next 6 months, focus on something boring, legitimate, and repeatable.

VA work, basic tech support, data handling, or community moderation are all realistic entry points. Internet marketing looks attractive, but most models require either capital or long testing cycles.
