Dear all

I see lots of businesses now picking up on WhatsApp as a way of interacting with users / customers.

I'm interested to understand how:
  • A WhatsApp number can be accessed by multiple staff / users in a business
  • How messages can be reviewed by a single admin or admin team from all staff / users
  • How to automate messages when a user messages the number for the first time
Has anyone got experience of this type of setup ?

Cheers

You can do this through WhatsApp Business API, it lets multiple staff use one number, admin can review chats, and you can set automated replies easily.

Do you know all about the WhatsApp Business API application process? Can you help me? Of course, this is paid!

Hey!
Yes, this is becoming really popular lately. You can manage this kind of setup using WhatsApp Business API or tools like 360Dialog, Twilio, or WATI. They let multiple team members access one number, assign chats, and even automate first-time replies with chatbots or templates.
If you want, I can share a few setup tips or platforms that work best for your business type.

Hey!
Yes, that’s becoming really common now. The best approach is using WhatsApp Business API or tools like 360Dialog, Twilio, or Wati, they let multiple team members manage one number, assign chats, and track everything from an admin dashboard. You can also automate greetings and FAQs easily.
If you’d like, I can point you to a few setups that work smoothly.

Neither standard WhatsApp nor the WhatsApp Business app supports multiple people logging into the same account simultaneously (maximum mobile and web).

However, this is possible through the following solutions:

Using the WhatsApp Business API / Cloud API

Suitable for small and medium-sized businesses or cross-border customer service teams.

The core concept: You connect your WhatsApp account through the API or a third-party panel (such as WATI, Twilio, 360dialog, Zoko, or Respond.io).

Each agent has a separate login, and the system automatically assigns or merges messages.

You can set up automatic welcome messages, keyword-triggered replies, and CRM customer profiles.

The options you're talking about are already supported by the Meta API. You can build whatever you want with it, or you can use any existing platform that offers those features officially for example manychat. And if you prefer going the unofficial route, you got those options too for example wuphub. they give you unofficial api you can build whatever you want on top of that.
