Volumedrive ? Lousy So Far

I dont know about you guys

but signed up for Volumedrive due to the good things said about them on this forum

however got to say I am totally underwhelmed by the service and setup time

and the software they loaded into my VPS even says trial only


so I can only hope its fixed tomorrow - which would be 5 days

I was about to purchase one of their VPS packages because it looks like an amazing deal. I kind of expected crappy service for that price, but the trial software is a bit concerning.

Aside from crappy service and setup time have you had any other complaints about them? The only thing that will really bother me is if they have slow speed, so I'd like to hear what kind of speed you're getting on your site (if you've managed to get it up yet).

ordered friday morning

nothing - sent an email they said they had a problem would be done by sunday night .. it wasnt

more emails they set it up today

more problems and the software they loaded says trial only will expire


next thing getting error messages and 3 hours no answer from support


so if I actually get something working will let you know - but Day 4 going on day 5 and nothing so far - pretty piss poor imo.

I've had only good service so far--they usually respond to emails within a few minutes except in some rare cases. (Though I've been using their VPS before it went fully public, so they may have been less busy with it.) Their VPS service was just recently launched, so I think they're just getting the hang of things. But overall, good price, good support and quality functionality--It may just take them a while to get things running fluidly. (For example--their VPS configuration wasn't properly setup for a while and was getting memory errors--I think that has been resolved though.)

***The demo stuff is due to them not pushing the cPanel license to your VPS yet. They did it for me after a few days--also the temporary demo mode should not effect any of the features you can use in the meantime--I wouldn't be too concerned about it.***

Volume Drive is Known for Bad Customer support. I also wonder where u learned good things about it? Ya there price is low but still there service is a big headache.

ive bought dedi from 5 suppliers and 2 vps etc none of them took longer than 48 hours and they worked from installation .... so better be careful with these guys.

tropheum was saying how good these guys are and to give them a try - well it definately hasnt worked out for me so far.

Their VPS ain't new, I bought one in 2008.

BHW is amazingly fast, and is hosted in volumedrive, but I think new customers get their crappy servers....

To everyone here, avoid volumedrive...

I have 2 dedicated servers with Volumedrive.
One X2 and the other a dual opteron linux web servers.
The speed of the network is very impressive. They always do everything they can do to help. Josh over there is tops.. When ordering a server you do have to give them some time to setup the box, if its over a weekend bank on it happening on monday. That being said you cant beat the prices and the network. I give them an a+
Today I needed one of my servers rebooted and it was rebooted 5 minutes after I emailed them.
Now, VPS I have not tried with them.. But VPS in gerneral is crap. I dont care how much CPU and memory they allocate you dont get the speed like a dedicated box..
If your unhappy with VPS get your self a low end cheap dedicated server and im sure all your problems will go away.

thanks for the advice on the dedicated I may have to do that


as I mentioned before that my cpanel was listed as trial copy only

now its expired and they havent upgraded it and can't access CPANEL at all

don't expect this problem to be solved within a week given usual support times over there

I am with them last 2 months, their service is great for me. they answer my question less than 5min and gave me some free ips too

Hmm, mixed feelings here, I'm not so concerned about the support as performance. I was looking into the low end VPS, it's cheap as heck, I really should give them a try...anyone have feelings about that?

Don't get VPS, they have a dedicated server for 50 bucks that is awesome working for me.:captain:

Well.... it is a cheap company. I had a server with them for XRumering and never expected 24/7 support. So far, apart that it took some time to setup my server, customer support was very friendly and I cannot report about problems.

If you are looking for hosting your sites, I'd still recommend to take something more reliable and not necessarily more expensive, e.g.:

hetzner.de
1und1.de

u wait long time for setup, if anything fuckus up u can wait even 2 weeks for fix.
also even tho they allow xrumer after some complains they take off servers.
support is the worst there and yes servers are fast, really fast. but who caares if u have loads of downtime when the ysetup/fix stuff an u pay for this time anyways?
