My country is broke, corrupt, war-torn...

Can't believe you're comparing America to Mexico.

Sure America may have a lot of problems (what country doesn't), but Mexico? That place is like a war zone at the moment. 10,000 people a year are being brutally murdered because of the drug cartels (yes it's that bad).

The economy is a joke and probably always will be. Why do you think there are 30 million illegals living in the US? It's sure as shit not because of a strong Mexican economy.

If you want to get out of America look to some where like Canada or perhaps Costa Rica. Or maybe even some where in Europe...

I like Canada, they have a strong dollar, strong economy, and pretty much stays out of everyone elses business. + I heard land is cheap.

Buy yourself a country....

I hear Sealand is for sale....

build yourself a greenhouse, and grow your own veggies... Lot's of fish! :)

now thats a place to have your servers eh.... HavenCo Limited was a data haven, data hosting services company, founded in 2000 which operated from Sealand, self-declared 'sovereign principality' that occupies a man-made former World War II defensive facility The company announced that it had become operational in December 2000 and that its Acceptable Use Policy prohibited child pornography, spamming, and malicious hacking - but that all other content was acceptable. It claimed that it had no restrictions on copyright or intellectual property for data hosted on its servers, arguing that as Sealand was not a member of the World Trade Organization or WIPO, international intellectual property law did not apply. Other services available from HavenCo at the time included IT consulting, systems administration, offshore software development, and electronic mail services. Later policies specified, "No pornography that would be considered illegal within the EU," and "No infringement of copyright."[3] as for you moving to mexico...you remind me of immigrants who are in the united states and going back home because of lack of money etc. do you have a green card? the u.s. is the shit... you will find that out quickly once you leave

You have license to be idealistic at 21. I was idealisitc as hell at that age. You're entitled to your opinion, and I'll respect your opinion, but with age and more experience, you might develop a different opinion about the US.

Shitload of problems, sure. But oh, the opportunity!

Ummm, you really think so?

Lets look at some basic economic statistics.

2010 Mexico Statistics:
%4.1 GDP growth
Unemployment %6.2
trade deficit of $10 bln
Public debt - $272 bln

2010 United Statistics Statistics
Negative %2.4 GDP growth (Not only is the US economy downsizing, but it's actually shrinking)
Unemployment %9.7 (This means that 1/10 Americans looking for a job, cannot find one)
trade deficit of $500 bln (Wow, really? Can we really sustain this?)
Public debt - 13.2 trillion (This debt is nearly as big as the nations GDP, along with interest, do you really think we can ever pay this off?)

Please, Carvel, think before you type.
It is cheaper in any poor country, the US is a major country. They are in debt, but we are the top nation in the world...

Maybe USA is not what it used to be... But Mexico??? Even Mexicans say it is like Colombia in the 80s... I guess you can afford a good bodyguard with 6k/month...

You sound like me 10 years ago when I was in College. College always illuminates social discourse. This is the point. They want you to become more self aware of your surroundings. Just try not to drink the kool aid all the time.

As you get older and have a family, your views will change. You will begin to worry less about things that are almost or completely out of your control, and appreciate what you have, and what is in front of you.

This is not to say moving to another country is a bad option though. I have a buddies that live in Thailand, Mexico, and Costa Rica. They love it. But they live in nice Americanized/Modernized areas where other Americans/Brits live. If that is how you want to live go for it. Only one has a child, and when you have family it can be very difficult to live this kind of life style when you have no support system around you.

They do live like kings though:)

the us does have alot of corrupt politicans but who doesnt. bottom line its safe. weve never had a war on our soil since the civil war. personally ive never been shot at, had to worry about food, or been asked to do anything i didnt want to do besides pay high taxes. take refuge in safety and hold it down for everything else. special interest groups will dominate our system and always will. pick a side and start fighting for something

Land is cheap if you live out in the country... but here in any vancouver suburbs we are a lot more expensive then most of the US. 1 million will but you a little dinky house in van or a condo.. in the suburbs still like 400k+ to get a 30 year old house.. I seen some shows on US house prices and huge fucking houses for the same price as what my family lives in.. :(

But van is the best place to live :P

:P I live in the uk and I think the u.s. had it good for a long time.
Its just catch up time ( financially speaking ).

Do you just want to move because of money? serious? life is not about the buck and I would not move just because my income would increase 6.36% or whatever.

The u.s. is a great country but should make it compulsory for all adults to have a holiday or experience another county by the age of 25 :P

Look into Panama. From what I've heard, you can live like a king down there on your salary (i.e. maid, bodyguard, nice house, etc...). Lots of Americans have moved down there.

Very true; both Panama and Costa Rica are very stable; but I prefer Costa Rica. It's just freakin hot in Panama.

Shit happens everywhere as long as a human is there. Liars and politicians and corrupted governments are just humans and humans have the same features and weakness points.

One Response.... GO BUCKEYES. That is all.
