Well this is the Shit List so I guess this belongs here as ebay have become even shittier.

With the new ebay feedback rules; (the seller CANNOT give negative feedback), this kind of blackmail was always going to happen. ebay is way too powerful and now, it would seem, getting stupider. You either comply, or get out and many thousands of people rely on ebay as their main source of income.

Read and weep!

  1. "...I want a full refund and I will keep both shirts because I don't want to pay money to send them to you. If you don't agree, I will neg you after the 18th and you can't neg me back".

  2. "...Dear XXXXXXXXXX,
I received the folders today, and i am very disappointed. They are not all the same color.
Some are darker vanilla than others. How can I set up my office with different color folders?
I am aware-you say to ship back, well, I will be out about $4 shipping back to you, plus all my time, how i had to keep checking on
the bids and monitor them, so i could win, then drive (with gas at $4 gallon!)- to the store to rebuy. Not to mention my
now aggrevated major headache, which I am now driving to the store fro Tylenol!
So- Heres the deal: You send me $75.00-I keep the folders and I will "think" about not giving you a negative, You are aware that I can now give you a neg, and you cannot reciprocate? My paypal for the $75 is: [email protected].
    Thanks, Bob

pisses me off too..
Hope that doesnt happen to me..
If it does I will just threaten them back with paypal lawsuits etc.. Buyers like that are ususally idiots lol

and this is why I gave up ebay. As soon as I received the fee changes email in feb I knew it was time to leave. there are so many other ways to make money online.

I think its time to boycott eBay.

Ebay seems to have forgotten that it's the SELLERS who pays their salaries, NOT the buyers...

Let the boycott begin!

These motherfuckers need to learn that they are completely screwing over the seller contingency within their programs. Paypal is established to cater directly to the buyer vs. the seller, where you can dispute for almost any reason and multiple times over. I have lost at least over $2k in paypal for unjust dispute decisions and paid ebay and paypal fees all the while.

A clear competitor needs to emerge against ebay, they continue to make stupid decisions and act more tyrannical by the day. They are trying to protect their system and the consumer, in effect gaining more customers but over time I hope they will lose the business of serious sellers.

May I also add that SquareTrade is halting their service to remove negative feedback comments? So, not only can a seller not leave negative feedback for a shithead buyer, but now we can't remove their (often) bullshit comments either (for $20).

Why does eBay hate its sellers so much?

I didn't know about the SquareTrade hold, man eBay sucks more every minute (no wonder I stopped using them 6 years ago - at least I did not pay ~$4000 of their fees - court ruled in my favour, because ebays lawyers were too busy counting money BIGSMILE)

Yeah, it sucks being a seller on ebay now. I am sure there are better ways of making money though.

I wonder if ebay would help the seller if you forward blackmale messages to them from your customers. I've had a few customers piss me off so much that I want to take a trip, knock at there front door and smash them... Stupid idea, I eventually calm down....

I sell on ebay I have got 4 neg's in the last week alone
have a feedback number of over 12,000 and 98% pos rate

Your right ebay forgets who their customers are same as craigslist

Please someone come forward and give a run for their money

Ebay, Craigslist and paypal are a bunch tree huggers

When someone does knock them off their throne i will dance on there grave

Like Craig From Craigslist he is more worried about a guy who wants to sell a bike or rent an apt them making a few billion a year

WTF?

Let tree huggers live under a bridge and deed the company to me I like profit

While I totally agree that all of their new rules are outrageous, the fact of the matter is that the cost-of-entry to even take one auction niche from eBay is so prohibitive, it's probably not worth it. So many people have tried, but the eBay brand is imprinted on the minds of the masses. Believe me, as long as people continue to buy shit from eBay, people will continue sell shit on eBay. The sellers have to sell, but not a damn thing happens until somebody buys something.

Just my .02

ya ive had a bunch of people edn up with partial or full refunds because i sent glass and it broke. but shit Id screen shot that and forward it to ebay if i got that kind of email from them

the feedback system needs an overhaul and the will have to bring back seller negs....

In time it will average out, right now everyone is used to having 100% feedback, now the average will lower, that's all.

*Puts flame suit on*

Talk about a scam. Instead of actually hiring customer service staff to deal with people's complaints, Ebay, in it's infinite capacity to scalp every last cent from it's customers, has chosen to implement a feedback policy which never had any hope of working.

It's such a sham. How many years have both sellers and buyers been screaming about the lack of any real help from Ebay. Instead of addressing that, they come out with this little gem.

Ebay has been getting a LOT of bad press in Australia recently from both sellers and buyers, all that is needed is another auction site with the capital to encourage the sellers. Most sellers are beyond ready to jump ship. Word of mouth will attract the buyers.

'...Since I first posted this, they have changed their policy slightly.

Oh how I wish someone else would give them a run for their money, but I suspect it won't happen. eBay have the monopoly. The best thing we could hope for is for this monopoly to be questioned by the respected Governments.

If you were as powerful as eBay, would you give a sh*t?

If that was ebay's plan, it is the biggest risk that have taken to date.

why not set up a website w/the emails and communications between the buyer....

so when a buyer leaves a negative feedback, all you have to do is respond with the url of the communications...

also, depending on how much you make off of ebay, i would think about contacting a lawyer to help you draft a legalesse letter threating legal action if they leave negative feedback without cause....kinda like a slander.

these aren't foolproof ideas, but it's a start.
