So my wife attended a conference for lawyers where the topic was AI and what changes in the near term for lawyers through AI

One of the attended who was from google claimed according to my wife that google will in a few months start its FULL GOOGLE AI MODE to deliver only results without showing any kind of source meaning you won't see any links on the search results.
I checked the content she recorded as she always records conferences she attends for herself and can confirm a google representative made that claim.

It was a big conference for arround 500 lawyers from the whole state

As someone who has no dog in the fight I couldn't care less what google do with their company (as long as they don't affect anyone else, of course), but I will be curious to see if everyone mass-migrates to the other search engines, or the other search engines will go full AI mode too, at which point I think everyone will flock to sites like Tumblr, Pinterest, Quora, etc... The future is really interesting

Funny claim to make at a lawyer conference.
Since that would probably be criminal.

AI will always pulling the results from somewhere and source should be credited.

Full AI mode will also be poor user experience.
People like to have choice. Not only be force fed what some greedy corporation wants.

Sources are required to be listed by law i think
As for removing all other results, ai chatbot are way too stupid to replace 100% real human generated content, so without real results backing it up it will produce wrong answers a lot of the time, people need to realize that AI is still very young baby and has a looong way to go to really replace all the current techs

That is obviously the final form, by the time it would no longer be a search engine. No wonder they're stealing as much information as possible.

My wife said when leaving the conferenace they repeated like 100 times that its fully constitutional .
Why the topic was brought up in the conference is that lawyers will also face difficulties as they won't be able to cross-check the claim from AI from the source and that they are creating a special AI for them.

This is interesting. But could you please tell us more about exactly how the rep phrased it? You don't have to share the video but please transcribe it word for word what was said by the Google representative so we can analyze it a bit better.

Also, was this conference in the US?
