Hey guys. All this talk about SEO being dead, blogging being dead etc. When search engines now implement AI search results, and people switching to AI chat bots and away from the traditional search, I guess there's a lot of blackhat SEO methods ready to be discovered for AI search and chatbots.
Does anyone know any blackhat SEO methods to "rank" in AI chatbots? Is there even anyone talking about this? It's a new era in IM and I'm sure you could find ways to abuse it, or am I crazy? For example OpenAI or perplexity, how do they decide which sources to pull content from? A while back when voice search was the new big fuzz, people found clever ways to rank it that was not exactly the same as traditional search SEO.
I'll take one example I noticed using Grok. I was building a new page for my website, gave it a paragraph that I wanted rewritten. It answered by pulling the exact placeholder paragraph I had on the actual page AND linked directly to the page that was published literally seconds prior. Not even Google had this page indexed, and as far as I know Grok didn't even know the website was mine, it also had no idea I had actually published a page under that url. Where did it get this info from? Kept asking and it just replied that it could not crawl the internet in real-time. I've never linked my url in Grok btw.
