My first local SEO business - looking for tips

I'm building a vehicle rental business and now I'm about to start planning my site structure. This is my first local SEO business/site so I'd highly appreciate any additional tips from people who have done it already.

In my opinion, the site should be siloed for each vehicle type. So it will be domain.com/cars/, domain.com/scooters/, domain.com/electric-bicycles/ etc. Now, tell me what kind of articles should I put in each of these category siloes to try and increase the authority for each vehicle catalog? Would it be good for each silo/category to have a list of articles like:

• is it safe to drive car in destination
• best places to park your car in destination
• etc. (do the same for other vehicles)

And additionally should I build a separate blog related to the destination to improve the local/destination authority of the website? For example domain.com/blog/5-things-to-do-in-destination, etc.

I also plan to implement:

• LocalBusiness schema (on homepage and contact page)
• Product schema for vehicle listings (cars, scooters, etc.)
• Breadcrumb schema for all silos and blog structure

I'm looking for as many tips as possible. What more to do to maximize chances of success?

You're on the right track with siloing and schema. You should definitely make content that helps people with safety, parking, and travel tips for each type of vehicle, as well as guides for each destination to help you build local authority. To improve topical relevance and user experience, I would also suggest adding customer FAQs, comparison posts (like car vs. scooter rental), and links between silos and the blog.

It's hard to say right away. You need to understand what your competitors are doing in your niche. Take a few top websites, study their structure, and draw a mind map. Check for questionable queries so that you don't have competing pages on your website — to do this, study the search intent for the queries you are interested in.

As for informational articles, yes, it probably makes sense to do this to show your expertise in the subject. But this is definitely not a priority — first, deal with commercial landing pages.

When writing blog articles, try to build the structure according to the “chunk” principle (look for information on this). If done correctly, this will help boost commercial pages as well.
