On Monday (September 8, 202) I purchased the
supposed .EDU account. The payment was made via crypto, and the user’s response as well as the speed at which the email arrived were perfect, no doubt about that. Here’s what he replied to me.
- Any issue using them from Spain? (IP restrictions or geo-locks?) NO
- Do the accounts come with full profile data (name, details, etc.)? YES
- Are those details permanent or can they change/reset? PERMANENT
- Is it possible to forward emails from the .edu to another email (e.g. Gmail)? YES
- Do these accounts have an expiration date or are they lifetime? If you use them legally no issue with that
- Are there login guarantees if the university resets or disables inactive accounts? Login gurranty
- Can the password be changed after purchase? YES
- Do you provide replacements if an account stops working? 24 hours replace, after 24 hours we consider several issues
The problem is that it’s not a real .EDU,
it’s a .EDU.VN. It’s not a valid educational account and it’s
self-managed under its own tenant (it doesn’t belong to an accredited institution and doesn’t comply with
SheerID/UNiDAYS).
He also mentioned that the name could be customized, but he delivered everything to me in
Vietnamese.
Quick check:
- Canva Education and Cursor Student → standard signup, no student plan.
- Figma for Education → doesn’t recognize the educational domain/tenant.
On top of that, the Calendar and Drive were full of explicit content, plus more than 1500 PayPal emails with past invoices.
So yeah, it’s a reused account, not new and not institutional.
I privately messaged the user on Wednesday asking for a solution, and now he replied saying it’s better to talk on Telegram, which I’m not going to do. I won’t close or settle anything outside the forum.
I consider the money lost, but don’t buy from this guy.
