Hello guys I was checking my search console and I found that my pages have alot of internal links from weird pages frmm my site I wonder if they're hurting my ranking and should I try cleaning things up and removing them

Most of the time those odd internal links won’t hurt your rankings Google is smart enough to figure them out. But if they’re messy or don’t make sense for users, it’s a good idea to clean them up. A tidy internal structure usually helps both SEO and user experience.

You can use ahrefs webmasters' tools (free tool), to check if they are hurting your rankings and fix it.

Yes, if you see a lot of internal links coming from low-quality or irrelevant pages on your own site, it can potentially confuse search engines and dilute your SEO efforts. Cleaning them up or organizing them better can improve your site's structure and may help with rankings.

I noticed similar issues with unexpected internal links in my Search Console too. Google can usually handle odd internal links, but if they're from irrelevant or low-quality pages, it might confuse search engines. Cleaning them up can improve your site's structure and potentially boost rankings.

That's a good catch, and it's definitely something worth looking into.

I wouldn't just remove them, though. Instead, think of it as an opportunity. If those "weird" pages have any authority, you can re-point those internal links to more important pages on your site. This helps direct "link equity" where you actually want it to go, which can be a huge SEO win.

Have you been able to figure out what's causing those links to appear? Sometimes it's a technical glitch in a theme or a CMS.

Those strange internal links aren’t likely dragging your rankings down, but if they come from useless or thin pages, they can clutter your site and waste crawl budget. It’s better to clean up by noindexing or removing pages that don’t add value and keeping your internal links pointing to the pages that really matter.

Those weird internal links usually won’t tank your rankings. But if they don’t make sense or add value, they can make it harder for search engines to understand your site. But clean them up is more useful.

Weird internal links do not usually harm rankings, but if they look irrelevant or spammy, it is better to clean them up to keep your site structure and user experience strong.

It's absolutely fine if they are relevant even if they are thin content or low authority pages. If they are irrelevant, it's better to remove them.

Yeah I checked and basically all have 404 and don't exist

internal links carry value and even new content is discoverable. So need to clean up. But yes, if single page has more than 2 links pointing to same URL, then you can remove one of them. As it will be waste of crawl budget.

Hey, if you're seeing internal connections from irrelevant pages, it's definitely something worth looking into. Those kinds of connections can absolutely cause issues for your site. It's a good practice to clean up anything that doesn't make sense. Review those 'weird pages' and ensure all internal connections are relevant and serve a purpose.

These types of internal links may not directly hurt your rankings, but search engines understand and favor well structured, logical linking. That’s why cleaning up irrelevant or meaningless links can help improve your seo performance in the long run.
