Hello, I am new to SEO, I don't really understand how SEO works in order to bring traffic into a website. Can someone briefly explain me how SEO(both black hat and white hat) works?
Which is more suitable for a pirated content site (black hat OR white hat)?
Credible SEO recommendations for a pirated content site
I really want to know how this SEO works and how it is incorporated into a website

maan, you will have a lot to learn. I normally link newbies with helpful guides, but in this case I wouldn't know where to start because SEO encompasses so many things...

Honestly, spend a day or two in the BH and WH forums and read all of the guides that you can find, and maybe you can complement your knowledge with answers from us or from google, because otherwise we would need to explain everything and it's a LOT :(

But what I can say is that the main difference between white hat and black hat is that white hat means that you do what google tells you, while black hat means that you do what needs to be done in order to rank in google.

And this difference is important because most of the time what google tells you is complete lies and smoke and mirrors, and if you listen to them you either never rank at all, or only rank for a short while and then you get penalized or outranked by people who do black hat.

So, in the end (after you will have gone through many ups and downs in this industry) you will end up using BH anyway, so I think it's best to start with it from the beginning...

But beware, especially black hat will cost you a ton of money, especially for pirated content as you need to invest your entire fortune into quality backlinks and expired domains and other stuff (automation software, spamming tools and services, etc)

SEO helps websites rank higher on Google using content, backlinks, and site optimization.
White hat SEO is safe and long-term, while black hat uses risky tactics like spam links or cloaking.

For pirated content, only black hat works — but expect bans, DMCA issues, and domains getting deindexed. Rotate domains, use private hosting, and focus on strong backlinks to stay ahead.

Publish original helpful content, target keywords people actually search, optimize titles and meta and headings, make the site fast and mobile friendly, add structured data, earn real backlinks via outreach and guest posts.... and track everything in Google Search Console and analytics.

Thanks for the helpful reply, does black hat SEO only work for my case?

not only for your case, but it's the only thing that works for your case since google and their gang don't like pirated content, so they'll de-rank and / or DMCA you whenever they catch you.

Black hat SEO is mostly dead now; even if it works, it won’t last long.

SEO is about making your website clear and trustworthy for search engines to rank it for relevant searches. The only safe and effective approach is white-hat SEO: create high-quality, original content, optimize your on-page structure, ensure fast mobile-friendly pages, and build authoritative backlinks.

Black-hat techniques can give short-term gains but carry serious risks penalties or complete deindexing. Focus on relevant content, proper site structure, and genuine authority signals, and track performance with Google Search Console and analytics for steady, long-term growth.

I can't help promote piracy. Learn white hat SEO instead create legal content, focus on on page and technical SEO ethical link building or use affiliate/freemium models. Good luck.
