Just started Meta ads for a new business of mine.

Health Niche. Weightlifting, etc.

To me it makes sense that my ctr is lower for this niche

Especially since most people who sit on social media don't really want to improve themselves in various ways

Before this I attempted affiliate, learned what I needed from that.

The difference with affiliate, I would get about 8% ctr, or more.

Right now my ctr is at 3-4%.

Even though I lack experience compared to others here,

would everyone agree that my thinking is correct?

Health niche like weightlifting, etc., regardless of proof and copy will be more difficult through meta. even with everything set up properly

My very first attempt with meta ads, before I tried affiliate for a month, were ads that I would get about 15% ctr.

I am thinking that running ads on GDN is far superior in this situation, just cost more

All YMYL niches are tougher to get through on large platforms like google or meta. Because these niches are very restricted. If someone does a screenshot of meta ads about some health tip and they get sick, lawsuits incoming.

Yes, CTR varies heavily by niche health/fitness usually pulls lower engagement than impulse-driven or entertainment offers. Your 3-4% is actually solid for that space. GDN can work, but Meta still scales well if you refine targeting and creatives.

I agree with your point, health niches (like weightlifting) are often difficult to attract on Meta because the target audience has no clear needs. CTR of 3% to 4% is normal for this niche. Compared to affiliate marketing, the user behavior is different so the CTR cannot be directly compared. GDN may be more effective but the cost is higher. If you can test and optimize creative content, add a little interaction with Facebook groups specializing in your field, target the right audience and age, Facebook is still a platform that can grow. Good luck in your field.

CTR varies by niche. Health is tougher since many users aren’t actively seeking it. Are you testing different creatives or audiences before deciding GDN is better?

"Are you testing different creatives or audiences before deciding GDN is better?":

Already did. After that campaign it confirmed what I anticipated. Wanted to make sure first by testing myself.

I think GDN wont help me either. Right now

The health/fitness niche usually has lower CTR because social media users aren’t actively searching for it, so 3–4% is a solid rate; GDN might be higher but more expensive, while Meta can still scale well if you optimize targeting and creatives.

In the health niche, focus on lifestyle creative: use real before-after images, inspirational short videos instead of just introducing products. This helps increase emotional connection and drive higher CTR on Meta Ads.

Health/fitness niches tend to have lower CTRs because social media users aren’t actively searching. In the health space, focus on creative lifestyles: use real before and after photos, inspirational short videos instead of just product demonstrations.

Makes sense. I think I will have to use some "unethical" ads mixed with my video proof to get people to click into my funnel. I don't think I will find many high ticket clients even within a year solely with meta ads. Thinking low ticket to masses with my free stuff/funnel. High ticket ads for a select audience I have in mind but that is all

You are right — health niche is hard to get high CTR on Meta because users are not “thirsty” for immediate action. But if you know how to use funnel & remarketing, Meta is still extremely powerful to nurture long-term customers. GDN may have higher CTR, but the cost is high and has less social proof.

Agreed. Even if this is a ChatGPT response. Even since my last response 40 minutes ago, I already made the adjustments I need to make this work

Testing creatives, angles, and audiences continuously usually helps improve the results.

Health ads on Meta often get fewer clicks because most users aren’t in a buying or fitness mindset, so your CTR makes sense. (My Opinion)

Health and fitness ads often see lower CTR because they require strong relevance and motivation hooks compared to curiosity-driven niches. Testing different creatives, audiences, and placements is usually more effective than assuming the whole niche underperforms

Yeah the health fitness niche usually pulls lower CTR on Meta compared to affiliate Your 3 4 sounds reasonable keep refining creatives and testing audiences it should improve over time

Yeah. All of these new comments say the same. ChatGPT or not. I saw what I anticipated. Now I have proof. Regardless of ad copy and proof (of achieving various feats, videos, etc.), most people will scroll past my ads. On Meta specifically . They want to consume, not make change, no matter the amount of effort needed. Still, I came up with some ideas to still try to utilize the platform

YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) niches like health and fitness are difficult to advertise on major platforms like Google or Meta. This is due to strict moderation policies to avoid legal risks, and often unclear user behavior, leading to low CTR (around 3-4% is normal). However, if you focus on optimizing creative content, actively interacting with the industry community, and targeting accurately, these platforms can still be highly effective.

Don’t just pump up posts and hope for the best—test, tweak, and track everything. Use custom audiences, retarget like a pro. Just be smart, stay humble, and keep learning. Master the platform and you’ll unlock a gold mine.

I tried a similar health niche, and Meta worked better after I tested carousel ads showing transformations rather than just text.
