People can't message me

I can't get any messages from people. When I look at the account from my personal account I can see the message button for half a second after I have clicked on the profile, then it disappears.

Also it shows 11 messages still coming in however they don't show up. I have cleared data and cache. Deleted the whole app however nothing has worked.

This account is on 155k followers.
I have the same problem for an account with 600 followers.

However another account in a different niche with 190k followers doesn't have this problem.

155k follower account is the oldest. I think 2020 or smth.

Anyone has any idea?

Sounds like an Instagram DM restriction — the disappearing button and stuck messages are common signs. Try checking on web/Meta Business Suite, but if they’re not there, it’s usually a temporary block that clears in 7–14 days.

The button is not there on web as well. It has been like this for months. I think the 7-14 day period doesn't apply to me haha.

I reported it through shaking my phone. Multiple times yesterday. Maybe I can get an answer from there?

What should I try next? Or it isn't up to me anymore?

Inbox as in the email which is connected to the IG Account? If yes, I didn't find any restriction emails.

All settings are enabled correctly. So there shouldn't be the problem

Sounds like it’s an account-level bug, not your app. Try checking from web or another device - if it’s the same, only support can refresh/fix the profile on their end.

You got Dm flagged. Either you sent too many dms to people that aren't following you back, or you may have spammed too many messages within 1 day. In that case, let the account rest for 1 week, and then preform a warmup on the account. That should be fine.

I never send dms to anyone. Maybe i have got flagged as I have ran giveaways which tells people to send a Dm to me in order to enter.

The solution would be to appeal, it looks like your Dm was restricted due to some actions that violates their policy that you may not be aware of
