What’s your view on AI-generated content — can it rank well if optimized properly?

Does AI-generated content stand a real chance of ranking if paired with strong optimization and human editing, or is it more of a short-term hack that risks long-term penalties?

Does AI-generated content stand a real chance of ranking if paired with strong optimization and human editing,

Yes I do think so you. Just make sure you make it as humanly possible as you could . You should just work fine .

strong optimization and human editing
guys. no offense intended, but if you're going to spend 30 minutes prompting the AI to output content that you think is quality, and then spending another 30 minutes to fact-check whether it's correct, and then spending another 30-60 minutes to edit it so you can make it look "as humanly possible", wouldn't it be best to just write the content outright instead of training the AI of these multi-trillion corporations? Because - let's be honest - YOU are the ones outputting content for the AI with all of the prompt tweaking that you do, not the other way around.

If you have the experience and knowledge about a topic to make quality prompts for the AI the AI will simply get trained on your knowledge, and it will rewrite that information (that's all it does when it doesn't steal content from other sites, which is how the AI exists to begin with) and then give your own information back to you as "original content", similarly to how the content spinners used to do back in their day.

And if you don't have the experience and knowledge to feed the AI accurate information well, that's even worse in this case, because garbage in, garbage out, so you're basically spreading misinformation and disinformation to everyone who uses that "knowledge".

Again, I've no intention to offend any of you (I am sure that you're way more up-to-date on SEO and AI than I am as I've stopped doing this 4 years ago), but I am genuinely astonished to see how smart people can fall for this AI scam that clouds the rational judgement of so many folks. Can you really not understand who's working for who here? Genuine question

Got your point buddy , but as you can see my profile I am a newbie who is here to learn and ask questions regarding what I am learning because I know only the basics about AI , SEO , blogging , content writing and definitely I lack knowledge who requires correction from people like you but coming up with such a reply is not required for a person like me who is here for real knowledge from expert & experienced people and want to work on these for long term growth with committed devotion.

So, assume that I am someone in your place 4 years ago and instead of differentiating between human generated and AI content , differentiate between people with long term commitment and those with short term goals.

I am here to learn and grow and I need your support for this. Thanks.

we've all been newbies at some point, no worries I didn't try to pick on you :)

I should have probably quoted only Topiano, but the replies of both of you were similar (talking about humanizing content).

Anyway, to answer your question in a different way...

What’s your view on AI-generated content — can it rank well if optimized properly?
it can, but by "optimized properly" we are talking about heavy editing as google have started penalizing sites with pure AI. And if you're going to do heavy human editing we're getting to the same point that I made earlier: wouldn't it be better to just write the content yourself instead of feeding it to the AI of these corporations that are going to steal it anyway? If you do it like that you at least save some time that you'd be wasting on prompting, fact-checking and editing, so I still think it's best to go full-human from the get-go :)

Thanks for your geniune input , I am still processing what you want me to understand because you know AI much much deeper than me , so allow me some time and knowledge to go that deep to understand what AI is up to.

At this point , I need the AI for ideas & knowledge to sort things in a better way in short time but still not much aware of the pro & cons which I can understand with time and experience and obviously expert's guidance :)

Yes, AI content can rank well.
Just use AI but Generate Human like content, Use AI tool with the step by steps prompts to generate the best output.

That is what I am learning to see much better output when I am prompting in a step by step fashion.

Not at all for long term. You should use human content if you want to survive long.

As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent in SEO, it is becoming a long-term strategy that should be used strategically. Automating the creation of content speeds up the process, but quality, originality, and human supervision remain essential. There is a preference among search engines for valuable, user-centric content over mass-produced text. Combined with human creativity and SEO best practices, AI can enhance scalability, personalization, and consistency, enabling sustainable digital growth.

If you just put AI content on site, in some months, google will punish you. So not recommended.

I think of AI as a ghost writer you give it a detailed brief and you get what you want/need back.

I use projects in Claude and provide it with information on semantic seo, user intent and information on the subject. Add a content brief and a voice and it’s good to go.

Its a long term game my friend,

Required consistency and discipline to get true results.

The problem is crafting that article and making it sound good. The way AI writes it and crafts the sentences and words it seems plausible.

Plus it doesn't take 30 minutes.
1. Build a prompt a global one so that content doesn't appear AI generated.
2. Use it to create article. Then Suggest the changes what you want in the article.
3. Proofread it and suggest more changes.

Hardly takes 15-20 minutes, if you know about the niche you are in.

e.g. If I want to write a gaming article.
I already have a global prompt to write article like this -

Code:
Write a detailed article with title "My Title" to be published on my website blog.

Make this informal and write it how a human would write it. Make it more emotional how a human would write it. Also use some UK English.

NLP-Friendly Content Prompt

Create content strictly adhering to an NLP-friendly format, emphasizing clarity and simplicity in structure and language. Ensure sentences follow a straightforward subject-verb-object order, selecting words for their precision and avoiding any ambiguity. Exclude filler content, focusing on delivering information succinctly. Do not use complex or abstract terms such as 'meticulous,' 'navigating,' 'complexities,' 'realm,' 'bespoke,' 'tailored,' 'towards,' 'underpins,' 'ever-changing,' 'ever-evolving,' 'the world of,' 'not only,' 'seeking more than just,' 'designed to enhance,' 'it’s not merely,' 'our suite,' 'it is advisable,' 'daunting,' 'in the heart of,' 'when it comes to,' 'in the realm of,' 'amongst,' 'unlock the secrets,' 'unveil the secrets,' and 'robust.' This approach aims to streamline content production for enhanced NLP algorithm comprehension, ensuring the output is direct, accessible, and easily interpretable.

Humanizing Prompt

While prioritizing NLP-friendly content creation (60%), also dedicate 40% of your focus to making the content engaging and enjoyable for readers, balancing technical NLP-optimization with reader satisfaction to produce content that not only ranks well on search engines well is also compelling and valuable to a readership.

Once the article is generated. I will suggest changes according to other articles for the same keyword i am targeting. I will give information that isn't mentioned anywhere in those articles so that my article will sound unique to that particular keyword search.

it all took less than 15 minutes for me.

All I have to do now is publish and craft an image. :)

Your argument of training an AI is valid.
But I don't want to be left behind in the competition where everyone is using AI but I am not because I don't want to train an AI that can train itself on the same topic without my input also.

Short-term it works, but Google’s algorithms will likely penalize purely AI-written content over time.

I already have a global prompt to write article like this -
this prompt alone is 300 words long, add 300 more words and you have an article. And if you know your niche / topic well (which it's mandatory in order for the garbage that AI spews to be deemed of high quality) you could easily add 3-4x more content to this, at which point you're better off writing the article yourself especially since having all articles on your site omit those words that you told the AI to leave out will create patterns that are easily recognizable by google since google already have the original content in all popular niches and industries from actual authorities in those industries, so it's easy for them to compare real authorities against fake ones and see who's using AI content and who isn't using it...

So, you'd better include those omitted words and phrases if you want to sound like a human (no real human talks, thinks, and writes like a machine, not even the ones with the most binary / exact science-oriented brains, even those folks enjoy using complex words sometimes...)

The problem is crafting that article and making it sound good.
exactly! Which is something that machines can't do since "their" knowledge is limited whereas people evolve all the time... well, some of them more than others, but still...

Plus it doesn't take 30 minutes.
probably you're a native English speaker. I am not, and when I used to craft my own content - admittedly, really great and helpful content the like of which google are only drooling after - I use to spend 5-6 hours on research + planning the content out + writing it + proofreading and fact checking it. And after this amount of time the content usually turned out to be 800-1200 words long, and at the end of this I'm mentally exhausted and don't want to hear about writing anything again for at least 2-3 weeks. I'm not sure how you people (non-native English speakers I mean, the native English speakers I'm sure have no problem with this) are able to keep up with this demanding activity (pumping out content each day + updating / improving old content too since this is pretty much mandatory nowadays) that google have tricked you into doing...

1. Build a prompt a global one so that content doesn't appear AI generated.
if it's global it follows the same rules with each article produced, therefore it creates patterns, therefore it appears as AI generated to google. At least that's what logic tells me, but if you guys get away and manage to bank with it power to you I guess :)

2. Use it to create article. Then Suggest the changes what you want in the article.
3. Proofread it and suggest more changes.
again, no offense intended (and maybe I'm retarded and I don't understand how this works, so I apologize in advance if I sound offensive), but to me this sounds like trying to teach the AI what to output, so if you give the AI 10 words of content in order for it to give you 12 words in return then this is not worth it IMO - and even worse - it's not that it's not worth it, but you're doing the job that these big tech mafioso companies are expecting of you. So you're being used and abused without realizing it... at least that's what it looks to me...

Hardly takes 15-20 minutes, if you know about the niche you are in.
if you know the niche you're in you're better off writing the content yourself instead of feeding it directly into the machines of these companies. At least give them work to do as they're going to steal your content anyway, but at least let them work for it damn it!

Your argument of training an AI is valid.
But I don't want to be left behind in the competition where everyone is using AI but I am not because I don't want to train an AI that can train itself on the same topic without my input also.
yeah, in this regard I sympathize with you. I guess you have to go with the flow or get left behind :(

Sad state of affairs we're living in...

AI content can rank if it’s done right. Search engines care about quality, intent, and value, not the tool used. Raw AI text won’t hold up long-term, but when paired with solid SEO strategy, human editing, and accuracy checks, it can perform as well as human-written content. The key is treating AI as a support tool, not a shortcut.

Understood, the main thing is quality, intent and value and if it's on point then results will start getting better.
